How do I get my team to listen to me?

My last game, I went kindred top. Although a normals I still wanted to win as much as I would in a ranked game and so I tried to issue out commands (basically asking them to do things) but they wouldn't follow through. They wouldn't listen to me saying that the enemy was doing baron (shown by illaois tentacles) or that we should've forced a team fight mid (it was a 5v3, THeir ADC and support were bot) but they didn't and then got picked off one by one from azir, and our Annie wouldn't flash tibberz engage for the life of her (literally not even once.) (or the team whatsoever).

Anyways, enough rambling. How do I get my teammates to listen to me?

That depends on the kind of teammates you have. Some will listen. Most will just not care.

Honestly, I just do my best (aka as long as you aren't feeding) and maintain a level head and stay respectful to my teammates. I employ the DST hardcore (if you don't know what that is watch Sky Williams you fool) and talk to my teammates in champs select. Teammates follow people they like, nobody likes an asshole no matter how hard they are carrying and nobody likes a feeder no matter how nice they are (most of the time).

I occasionally get a gold/plat/diamond that thinks they are god-modeing everything and completely ignores me (even if I do well and my 3 other teammates are listening to me) and in that case you just let them be without raising a fuss over it. If what they are doing works, there's no reason to stop them. If what they are doing doesn't work, they will usually start listening.

You can't. It depends entirely on the team you get.

I tried to issue out commands

First problem "commands". Lets be honest here you thought the team should listen to you and came off as a jerk. Everyone probably muted your ass. I betting you do not come off as helpful but more of a pain to deal with. No one wants your orders, they do not recognize you as someone they need to follow.

You have to build a relationship of leadership. Pinging correctly, making plays that others could follow up on. No one cares if you can make the solo play - go split push- cause you have not shown the ability to work with others.

I laugh every time i see ADC or back line style champs try to lead. You need others to go in first, so you are not the one that should be making the calls to the rest of the team. Leading from the back has never been a good idea (and in life), no one respects it.

You want to take a back line champ? Learn your place, let the play makers do their job (or work with them). They have to figure out how and when to engage, you telling them to go when they can not see the play is not helping anyone.

The team needed your DPS not your mouth.

And you say I'm the jerk, I said commands to make what I was explaining easy and clear instead of wasting time saying "I was trying to have my teammates cooperate with me whilst having a nice and peaceful environment so to win the game". Also yes I did make plays WITH my team (mainly trundle) but I could not get my team to engage. You cannot argue with me saying that Annie should not have tibberz engaged many times throughout the game or that the team should have pushed in a 5v3 situation. Also calling from the back is a good idea because you are in a logical state of mind whereas if you're in the front line you would be in an illogical state of mind only trying to survive. I cannot wait for them to "learn" how to engage, they should notice after I point out when to engage or if someone pings to engage. If we wait 10 more minutes or longer for them to learn we would've lost the game either way. Lastly did you really want me to split push? 😂 Split pushing requires communication and good team coordination, tell me how this team had either
