Can I get some context on the Blitzcrank changes?

Blitzcrank Overdrive (W) has received several changes: Duration reduced to 5 seconds from 8 seconds. Movement Speed % increased to 70/75/80/85/90% from 16/20/24/28/32%. Movement Speed bonus now decays over the duration of the buff. New Effect: When Overdrive ends, Blitzcrank's movement speed is slowed by 30% for 1.5 seconds.

I can see how this is a buff and at the same time nerf but what's the point? What were you guys going for when you decided to test out this change?

To make a Blitz main actually think of the potential risk involved in charging into people in lane and launching a Q?

We didnt think Thresh had a high enough pick rate already and we want everyone to pick Thresh instead. So we made Blitz's w complete garbage.

How is it garbage? 90% MS boost that decays over 5 seconds. The 30% reduction (over 1.5 seconds) makes it even out instead of a massive MS boost buff. If you didn't get to where you needed to be with that 90% boost, you shouldn't have used the ability anyways. If you use it smartly, you won't even notice the 30% MS reduction.

It's a massive buff and I can't wait to use the new 90% ms boost to have a chance at catching Ahris trying to run away from a losing fight.

It's because currently, he can have it up basically all the time. 40% CDR, which is easy for a Blitz to get with items like Talisman and Frozen Heart, brings its cooldown to 9 seconds, and it lasts 8 seconds. So it's never a risk to use it, except that it uses a decent bit of mana (something Blitz builds anyway, usually). It even charges his Tear!
