You do realize that it is mathematically impossible for riot to intentionally give you bad teammates after win sprees without dramatically increasing your queue times right?

Thats the way matchmaking is designed. When you are on a win streak you are going to get put into games that a near unwinnable. How exactly that works no one knows. But that is how matchmaking works. It doesnt create fair games.

I heard this could be solved by playing League with a tinfoil hat on.

You realize that with anything that involves randomness, it is actually quite possible to get bad matches for even a month. Is it common? Prob not. Is it possible? Definitely is. Grab a deck of cards and tell me how many cards you get that are above ten after shuffling.

Now try above six.

And do that multiple times.

You will not get the same results nor an identified pattern if you actually shuffle correctly.

You misread what OP was talking about. He was talking about a system that "intentionally" gave you bad teammates given a certain set of circumstances. The system you are describing does not intentionally pair you up with bad teammates, it randomly does so.

You are missing the point.

A deck of cards gives you a probability of giving you 13 different types of cards. Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, and King. If you shuffle, and try to draw cards 7 or above (Ace is considered 1 in this case) you will have a higher probability of getting above 7 because 6 + 7 = 13 and you are trying to not get 6 cards. However, reality shows that this is not always the case. There will be a time when you don't get it several times in a row.

You also seem to not realize how people queue is not based on a logical system. Who is matched is based on who is going through matchmaking at the time. Therefore, the system grabs whoever is going in closest to their 'mmr' or whatever. The card draw is not even close to being fallacious.

No, you are missing the point. Your system is not the same one as the one OP is describing.

No, you are missing the point. You said the system doesn't work that way. I demonstrated that even if it didn't work that way, it clearly is possible to happen. You ready to grab that deck of cards or not?

If not, don't waste time arguing something you don't know anything about.

There is a difference between "possible" and "intentionally". I just grabbed the deck of cards and did exactly what you said. I got the same results that you got. However, none of the actions of the deck can be described as "intentional". The system you described only works because it is random.

Again, we don't have the same people queueing at the same time. It's always random because the people who come into the queue are random.

The deck example works only because of that. Now is it a perfect example? No. But it does explain why it is possible for such a thing to happen.

Now if we go on the basis of intentional, we add in something different as well.

Assume your a 9 (The cards represent an MMR). That completely changes the dynamic and still possible for it to happen. As I said, the probability is low, but still possible.

The system basically will try to match you with 6 - 10 + Jack.

I thought you understood I was using the cards as MMR players.

Anything above or below is discarded, adding to queue time.

You are focused too much on "possible" when the original poster was focused on "intentional"

If your case, matchmaking in random. Therefire, it will always pull someone from 6-jack every time as long as your mmr is a 9. This means that as long as the playerbase is relatively similar, your queue times will be relatively similar.

In the case that the original poster is describing, matchmaking intentionally pulls weaker players for someone who is on a losing streak. That means that matchmaking will pull a 6-jack for regular games. However, if a player is on a winning streak, then matchmaking will only pull players from 6-8 for their allies.

I thought you said it was not possible for that to happen without it being intentional. Looks like I was wrong.

Bro, Lets use your card game example. So the op is claiming that the dealer (riot) is stacking the deck not in your favor when you win to many chips . Do you feel that way about ranked or not?

I don't care about how I feel about it. It's about what can and can't happen in this particular discussion.

I don't feel one way or another. I have a HARD tendency to get really bad team mates (AFK and trolls) during my promos though.

hi I'm random dude, and you lakrosin are the one who is indeed missing the point. See the potential for one bloke getting dicked for any one person is not the same as if everybody gets dicked under a set circumstances. Its the Prove that if All A are B, Some B are C, therefore some A are C?

Can you get horrible teammates? yes. welcome to random chance. Will you get horrible teammates for playing well? negative cap, your gonna get them when you get them, its still random chance.

Hope this was helpful.

To be fair you where not wrong in where you where coming from. Seems like a harmless mistake where you just misunderstood magwick or missed the bit where he said intentionally. Seeing your response to him a moment ago I'm pretty positive this was the case. All I can say is that it happens mate. Don't fret it to much and have a awesome night.

I won 18 out of 18 games as Bard when I went solo in flex que. Tell me more about how riots does not want players to climb.

Falcon Of Death1 votes

you're in gold so doesnt matter skill gaps are way bigger

Kai Guy1 votes

Was in silver at the time, Also it was Flex, so skill gaps happened to be huge. The claim is you get dicked over intentionally by riot for win streaks. I don't agree.

So if skill can offset bad luck / rigged matchmaking on teammates I feel that disproves your opening point. Claiming Cant win bad team, just signals your personal impact on matches has room for improvement, and hey that's not a bad thing. Learn from it and grow as a player.

Also I was inaccurate in my post. I started with 1 loss as bard, also had 1 remake, after that it was 18 for 18.

PimpStickNasus1 votes

It's probably more like you winning a lot inflates your mmr and then combined with the time you're queued for (longer allows for more mmr discrepancy) and you get put with people who are largely lower than you against and enemy team of higher level than them but still lower than you to where the average mmr is the same so to the game the teams seem balanced when in reality they aren't really cause it expects you to have a 50/50 on carrying but more often than not you won't.

Falcon Of Death1 votes

if my mmr is inflated then i should have teammates of equal skill regardless

why do i suddenly get complete apes for 8 consecutive games after promoting?

Kai Guy1 votes

To prove this claim you kind of need to post on your main my man.
