because he is a walking CC bot, his damage is a bit too high for the amount of utility he brings.

not one mage has CC on all of their abilities and their passive, not one other tank has CC on all of their abilities and on their passive.

He shouldn't do as much damage as he does

Seriously though think about what killed you in your fight against him. His Ult is not a nuke, his E isn't doing that much damage compared to most Aoe attacks. Its his long trades with his W, which might I add, is not a cc ability at all, so you're false on that.

Why does he do damage in the first place? He has the MOST cc of any champion in the game. In terms how much can lock down someone for so very very very long. And is insanely tanky. Probably shouldn't be doing any damage.

look atthe bigger picture

we have champions who have more loaded kits than naut many of those arent even tanks ... but carries that can avoid damage

naut unlike those guys can be simply killed/ ganked on and he will die ... while those guys will just use their 5 dashes and 7 passives to get out

if you blame nautiluses power budget ... you need to look at how strong everything else is if naut is a problems to you ... then everything is

I never said his kit was overloaded? I said he has to much damage for the amount of Utility and CC he has, dont put words in my mouth

Because you suck at farming and kiting. Naut's base damages are high. Your best option is to kite him when his shield (extra damage) is up, and then counter-trade him when it's down.

Why shouldn't Naut deal damage?

Cause when built with a modest amount of tanky ap items such as RoA, Abyssal, and Iceborn a Nautlius can put out some good damage numbers. He isn't just a meat shield that people can walk past and ignore.

Like most tanks, he does have some AP Ratios. Definitely pay attention when he builds a RoA. Though I suppose the changes make it less of a tank item. Also most Top lane tanks will have good AoE attacks to handle wave. These attacks usually have decent damage to clear minions and could chunk a fair amount of health if your not careful.

Also, Are you Breaking his Shield? He gets a lot of trading power when his shields up.

Did you go full attack speed? I built item 3931 item 3027 item 3115 item 3153 item 3091 item 3046 item 2138 in a custom and his auto animation was terrifying

I did sated wits bork merc treads randuins visage, got like 1.5 attack speed with like 200-something on hit magic plus bork/base ad an auto with w and i agree that animation was wicked

Nautilus with a (old, haven't played with the new one) RoA and an Abyssal Scepter can nearly one shot squishies with his Ult. Probably can with extra AP on RoA now

I just was confused as to why the Nautilus top lane was destroying me when he was really tanky and only had bought HP/Mana at the time. The with his E I couldnt even run away.
