Tl;dr on the entire post, the game modes like Ascension and One for all didn't make enough money, so they aren't bringing any of them back, instead only supporting the game modes like ARAM and TFT because they make the most money.
This isn't Riot making the decisions, it's Tencent who owns 100% of Riot and just uses the name Riot as a mask as they try to make as much money as they can off the game.

I too miss actual rotating gamemodes.
I don't miss Ascension being there literally every 2 weeks because Riot was lazy to port other gamemodes, though

I forgot TT hextakill existed...
My favorite mode was with those super duper minions you were able to unlock with different type of gold. Right now LoL is very boring. Im barely able complete first win of the day and that's it.
I think they are coming back with Snowdown. The RGM button was added back to the PBE, although it is currently disabled.
