Buff all boot enchants except homeguards

Homeguards are basically the only enchant anybody ever buys. The others could use a buff imo

Distortion is ridiculously strong on many champs. Any buffs would push it far over the edge.

I honestly think homeguards are massively overrated unless you are actually trying to ahem guard your home.

Am I the only one who likes alacrity?

Remove TP as a summoner spell. Put it on boots like it was with Black Market Brawlers

Now you've freshened up top lane, completely changed the meta and made TP available to other classes while also removing TP/Homeguard cheese.

Sadly they will never buff the boot enchants for 1 reason and 1 reason only item 1303 (distortion not the bott it is enchanting of course).

The moment they buffed that, you would see nearly every mid laner taking tp, and the last thing they want is flash on a shorter cooldown. They would like compensate by nerfing tp and flash, and it would be a downhill mess of frustration.

While I agree, as homeguards is honestly the only real enchant I feel is worth investing in, I don't think they would buff the others simply because of the impact buffing distortion would have.

I dunno man, Homeguards are absolutely amazing when you're cornered in your base, but I personally love aclarity and pick it almost every time I'm even slightly ahead. The little extra movespeed on top of item 3069 and the occasional item 3117 really helps when I'm doing ward runs and positioning around/escaping from enemies. Homeguards isn't doing you any favors once you leave your base.

I want a CDR enchantment that grants 5% CDR for a slightly overpriced cost. Like 200 gold for 5% CDR. It's not cost efficient, but it's nice to go from 35% CDR to 40% in certain situations. Like if you're playing a tank and you don't know if you want Frozen Heart (giving you 40% CDR) or Ionian Boots of Lucidity (giving you 35% CDR).

I personally only use homegaurds if i need to defend the base. I would usually use item 1303 because i usually play an immobile adc and this can become very handy. Or if i feel like i need to just go faster i get item 1301 however when i need to kite an enemy like Garen i would usually go item 1300 so i don't really use homegaurds much at all and they are really overrated.

could we just get rid of that toxic crap? I'm sorry but theres very little skill involved in picking hecarim then using homeguards to fly into enemy team that cannot possibly escape and pushing them into your inhib towers....just take it out please, it really doesn't add anything to the game.

PokeItWithASpork9/28/2015, 12:59:09 PM1 votes

Wait. There are other boot enchants?

CoolKnightST9/28/2015, 2:37:56 PM1 votes

They just should remove the increase regen & just buff the regen from the fountain itself.

Distortion has its uses on Annie and Morgana but only if you're ahead and are sure you're going to stay ahead. If not you have to sell them for HG , so its just better to get them to start with unless you're confident in your team.

DirkTarTar9/27/2015, 2:29:14 PM1 votes

Distortion is almost sleeper OP already - Flash/Ghost Malzahar Viktor Xerath

I build Captain's boots on all my initiators/Supports

I only build Homeguards if we are losing... or playing Ignite/Teleport Kassadin for the NEVER I play him anymore :(

Alacrity... I've never built it.

Cupkek9/27/2015, 11:43:07 PM1 votes

Homeguards, I feel, simply give more utility than other boot enchantments. They maximize your up-time on the map, allowing you to do more... things, for lack of a better word. On top of that they're helpful in a pinch where an enemy is threatening your base.

Furor - Decent, good on certain champs Distortion - Really only good for the SS cooldown reduction. Captain - Who uses this anymore? I could see it being somewhat useful for, say, a speed team? Maybe. Alacrity - Just way too underwhelming. Unless you're chasing a target from base to base without any other movement speed variables, they're just too bad.

In short, the others are very very niche picks. Homeguards are just too useful.

Squidblimp9/27/2015, 11:44:08 PM1 votes

Furor is great on ADCs, Distortion is amazing on immobile champions, and Alacrity is really good for AOE mages that need to kite.

Rakvir9/28/2015, 12:46:23 AM1 votes

I lost more than a few games SOLELY (pun somewhat intended) because my team refused to upgrade boots past t2. Way too much time standing in fountain waiting for health and I told them that.

Champion Skin9/28/2015, 2:22:33 AM1 votes

Distortion is actually pretty good Especially on champions like Annie who relies on flash so much or on pretty much any champion who takes ghost + TP/Flash (As it really increase the effectiveness of ghost increasing the MS buff from 28% to 40% and on top of that reduce the cooldown as well)

Professor Ward9/28/2015, 4:13:55 AM1 votes

in a game where speed is based mostly on item brackets any chase champ needs alacrity deadmans+alactrity outperforms homeguards for a much larger portion of actual gameplay, especially on engages and disengages. Which i believe to far outweigh the advantage i get by getting lane pressure a few seconds faster.

and on a side note boots of swiftness+alacrity outclass mobi boots on everyone except junglers the fact that speed only really usually matters within 5 seconds of fights and the passive just puts it over the top

CaptainCandyazz9/28/2015, 6:00:03 AM1 votes

I put Furor on my ADC if were doing good and Captain on any champs I use that have strong engagements so my teammates and jump into the fight just a bit quicker. They're not underpowered at all, theyre just hardly used. Distortion is amazing. The only point I see in anybody getting Homeguards is to get out of base faster, but end game, what is that worth? You lose a kill that couldve won you a game because you werent fast enough (Furor), You lost a teamfight because you engaged and your teammates didnt get in quick enough (Captain). Seriously. Think about the situation YOU put yourself in and choose accordingly.
