why do i get matched with people that are a much higher rank than i am?

i just played a game and these were the teams

Mine: 2 silver 1's, 1 silver 2, 1 unranked and 1 gold 4. all solo players

Theirs: 1 platinum 3, 1 diamond 4, 1 unranked, 1 gold 4 and 1 gold 3. with 1 trio and one duo

how is this fair? and its not a rare occurrence it happens quite often and every time is just one sided and not fun at all. it may just be a normal game but i dont have the time to play ranked so i play normals.

Because riot uses a invisible system to determine matches and they won’t reveal anything about it.

Normal game MMR is separate from Ranked MMR. Not sure if it's entirely separate but it's definitely common for high elo players to get placed against low elo players because some don't play normals too much.
