is conditioning good?
is it worth taking over second wind? i always thought conditioning was a good rune but i only see people using second wind

If your up against a Conqueror user, you might aswell ignore resistances.
Depends on the lane. I take it if I want to buy more than one defensive item because it increases the value. If they have a ton of poke you definitely want Second Wind though.
Only on champions who stack resistances.
The 8 Armor and Magic Resist is ok. But because of the 10 minute wait it doesn't help for the lane at all and as such that 8 armor doesn't end up doing a whole lot unless you just stack resistances.
I have gotten like 24 armor from that tune before when I was against an all AD team and just stacking armor.
Depends on your team and the enemy team. If you are the only tanky type, but have a healing support on the 10, conditioning will make their healing much better.
If you're a support is going to cast a lot of shields instead, or you're champion has great shield abilities, then second wind will allow you to recover more Health before your Shields run out.
Then there is like others have said in earlier posts, Champions like galio and Garen like to stack armor or resistance. Rammus is a good example to where conditioning is almost a must
I see people recommend second wind in that branch for Tahm Kench which doesn’t make sense to me since shouldn’t his gray health heal the health he lost anyway? Wouldn’t it be better to use conditioning?

how does his gray health work exactly? does it get consumed by other forms of regeneration or just pushed back?
lets say you have 250/1000 hp and would heal 500 health off tahms gray health but receive a 250 health heal before it kicks in. would it still heal you up to 750 or to full health off the gray health?
other than that, if you activate your shield, you consume the gray health. so second wind would still be useful in that case to heal you back a chunk while the shield is active.
depends on the champion and the matchup.
for garen, conditioning can be a huge power spike. so if you can afford to take it, youll almost always want to.
(unless youre up against a high amount of true damage like fiora, in which case you might want domination/sorcery and just try to outburst your opponent before they burst you).
but if youre up against a lane with heavy poke or champions with a lot of damage over time effects, you might want to consider second wind anyway, because you wont get through the early game otherwise.
i prefer second wind in matchups like
who just try to nonstop poke you.
conditioning into easier and more even matchups.
