Sett Rework Idea

Sett is one of Riot's more balanced new releases, but he still struggles with ranged champions in a way most other juggernauts don't. This rework attempts to reduce Sett's overwhelming power against melee champions while making him more useful into ranged matchups.

Passive: Pit Grit- Sett's basic attacks grant him 4/10/16/22 armor and magic resist. This bonus lasts for 5 seconds and stacks up to 10 times. Additionally, Sett regenerates 1/2/3/4% of his missing health every second.

Q: Knuckle Down- Sett gains 10% increased movement speed for 2 seconds. This bonus is increased to 80/90/100/110/120% while moving towards enemy champions. Sett's next basic attack deals bonus physical damage equal to 12/13/14/15/16 (+2 per 100 AD)% of his target's maximum health and stuns them for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds

W: Haymaker- Sett deals 80/120/160/200/240 (+150% Bonus AD) physical damage to enemies around him. For each one hit, Sett gains 40% attack speed for 5 seconds. This bonus can stack up to 3 times. Cooldown: 7/6/5/4/3 seconds

E: Facebreaker- Sett pulls in all enemies around him, stunning them for 2.5 seconds. Facebreaker has a minimum range, so Sett will only pull enemies farther away from him. Afterwards, Sett's damage is converted to true damage against enemies hit for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds

R: The Show Stopper- Sett targets an enemy champion, dashing to them. He grabs them and continues dashing forward, knocking them up for 2 seconds and dealing 200/350/500 (+200% Bonus AD) physical damage to them. Cooldown: 120/90/60 seconds

The point of this mini-rework was to reduce Sett's oppressiveness at melee range while also making him harder to kite from afar. Reply with any changes you'd make!

Theres no need for a rework some number changes will do.

  • Reduce base damage on w and increase the cooldown.

  • Increase autoattack range to 175

  • Make q movement speed and or duration scale and start the cooldown when the ability is cast ( not after the buff times out, right now if you are chasing with q and cant autoattack the target, the cooldown only starts once the buff is timed out which effectively increases the cooldown by around 5 seconds).

  • Maybe some damage can be shifted over to ult?

Basically these chasnges aim to give more target access and sticking power to sett as right now enemies can walk out of his effective range.

If we compare sett to darius, darius has better target access (larger pull hitbox and larger ability & autoattack range), has better sticking power (more potent slow, can move while casting q, pull guranteed stun, doesnt need to stand still for right punch left punch), aswell as having less conditional damage and an execution.

Well - he struggles. If you fight vs. someone tanky, then your Opponent can simply walk away. If you fight a mobile dmg-powerhouse, then you lose no matter what.

How about improving his stickiness: If you activate Q, your left Hook pinches and slows the enemy, while the right hook deals both parts of the %-dmg as whole? Alao like already said, CD starts when activated.

His W should have a "Groundpunch"-Mechanic. TAB the skill and you cast it ranged. HOLD it and you nuke the earth, creating a circle around you. Would handle it like small circle around him is true dmg, outer circle physical.

Done. Nothing more to do.
