Do you guys currently find Vi OP or Balanced?
Just wondering on your thoughts.
Just wondering on your thoughts.
I'd say a mix of the two, honestly. She deals a lot of damage in the right hands, is nigh unkillable if you know what you're doing, but she does have a lot of counterplay.
The counterplay: it's her only defensively mobile move. If she uses it to initiate, there's nothing in her kit (not counting flash, but everyone gets that) she can do to run. If she's baited and uses it, she's prime for a gank. However, if she DOESN'T use it to start a fight, you can kite her rather easy (stay away from your minion wave, though, because she can E through them). She's still melee. Avoid a melee fight if possible.
Her W. Her sustained damage. Imagine Botrk and Zed's passive had a baby, and this baby wanted to be like an adc but in her own way, and you get Vi. Kite her, don't trade beyond two blows if you're melee, and cc is your best friend (seriously, Vi has knockups, but no stun. Abuse that, silence her or something). If someone is caught out or stupid enough to try to brawl without being fed, Vi will punish them. It's Riot's way of teaching us how to trade against opponents who thrive in a sustained fight.
Her E. Her semi-ranged damage boost. She can use it to hit an entire wave, she can use it to hit you even though your behind minions. She punches so hard, shockwaves come out. ANd just like the good ol' one-two, she gets not one, but two charges (the tradeoff is there is no W active).
Counterplay: Catch her in the jungle, or kite the hell out of her to the side of your wave away from your minions. If she tries to Q to initiate, try to juke it or (if you're jungler is camping your lane at the moment), initiate the good ol' 1v2.
You can tell a good Vi from a bad Vi. A bad Vi uses it to win 1v1 trades, and lets her punching bag escape. A good Vi uses it to chase down a champion for the final blow. A GREAT Vi uses it for TEAMFIGHTS.Oh hell yeah, this ultimate is designed to screw up the enemy team's positioning. Build her tanky and you're good. Ult the adc, and the team has to choose either to focus you and waste all their skills on a tanky sponge, or let their sustained damage die.
Counterplay: First, don't let her win trades. Ward your shit. Don't let her get the punch on you. Second, if she's a good Vi, you can cancel your ult by becoming untargetable (
and abilities like alpha strike, for example). If she's a great Vi, change your team's positioning so you're not all in a line. Seriously, that's horrible positioning and people at low elos keep doing it. Learn how to do formations and stuff, don't stand in a line and expect the tank to take all the damage.
Vi is like Blitzcrank: she's undeniably strong, but her main strengths are punishing mistakes. She does have some utility that a skilled player can use, but not the point of
and her little poke is not nearly as strong as
. She can be beat, and it's not always easy depending on who you choose, but she can definitely get her ass kicked. Gauge the player's playstyle (thirsty-ass Rocky Balboa, or smart but dangerous She Hulk) and adjust accordingly. You can wreck her, but if you don't try to counterplay and just think she's OP, she will wreck YOU.
I won't deny it, she wrecks. But only if you let her. (and we all know that
does).
EDIT: somehow the numbers are messed up, but I had them in the correct order. Must be the listing function...
"She punches you in the face, you get hurt, and run and die like a baby. "
lol.
Well it's true.
She's a one girl wrecking crew.
I'll make this pretty quick. She is one of the most balanced champions in the game and Riot should aim to give everyone roughly her level of power. However, she is REALLY easy to play. Which makes her come out on top in situations where others may fail. Very similar to Malzahar.
I think she's in between. I nicknamed her "Autopilot" because she's really easy to be effective with regardless of your build.
She is fine imo. In regards to solo Q, I feel she is a terror because she somewhat forces teams to have to build against her or to be able to outplay her if she knows what she is doing. I feel she is balanced. She doesn't hit too hard and can always guarantee her engage, but her guaranteed engage can also be her death as she can isolate herself with it if she gets baited, resulting in her death.
yeah I'd say she's balanced.
