Sure if you lock 100% of the time you're at a disadvantage but no one says you can't hybrid-lock meaning if you need vision elsewhere unlock if you need to focus on yourself and your champion keep it locked.
There are LOTS of pros who play hybrid-lock (keeping it locked in every situation except maybe in a large scale team fight) the one I know best and everyone might recognize is PIGLET
Yes, PIGLET - ADC for SKT T1 back in season 3 a WORLD CHAMPION (who now plays for Team Liquid) Plays hybrid-lock or full lock depending on his champion you can watch him do it every time he streams.
If you're claiming locked screen makes you worse then you're an idiot. Cause if the world champion (and several other LCS pros) play locked screen then clearly thereis nothing wrong with it.

I can't actually find an example of piglet using primarily screen lock.
Surely; yes, in hectic team fights it can be valuable to lock. But primarily it appears he plays unlocked, which is what I have seen with the vast majority of high tier play.

Before he stopped streaming (He doesn't really stream as much as he did anymore he only streams like once a week so I say "stop streaming")
He used to stream every day and I was always there. I vividly remember explaining to viewers every few days that he likes to play locked screen especially on Vayne. He never answered any questions about why he plays lock screen most of the time on Vayne but eh, what can you do if streamers won't answer questions they won't answer questions.
Idk whats up with him lately tho. He isn't nearly in as good of a mood as when he started playing he used to answer questions all day long non stop with the help of his mods translating and he used to stream in the main room with everyone else now hes in like his own private room and he always wears this hoodie. It's kinda sad really, anyway next time he streams try to get online and ask the mods about locked screen they'll probably tell you.

The moment I unlock my screen I run into the worst places, and that I will not notice it until it becomes gray screen.
You will also be surprised on how many diamond+ players play locked screen and still doing well.
Vicarious1171 votesI play with it locked but have a button on my mouse to unlock it in order to move my screen around the map. The thing is I'm kind of twitchy in my play so when it's unlocked all the time and I jump into a fight it's highly likely I will move my screen too far to see wtf is actually going on and will overcorrect in a panic to get it back and only make it worse and worse... lol
But yeah I don't think anyone should settle for playing with it locked 100% of the time, I mean I have it set up the way I do for the sole reason of moving my camera when I NEED to, I'd feel so utterly blind if I didn't...... And if anyone asks you or me if they should play with it locked or unlocked I always suggest and hope you all do as well to play with it unlocked if they can! If I didn't cripple myself every single fight in a panic induced overreaction jerks I would most definitely just keep my screen unlocked all the time :P

Sometimes I fail my own skillshots because I have no idea where I was before I threw them.

Ill switch back and forth in different scenarios but primarily I'll keep it locked. Quite a few occasions when action starts going on suddenly and i leave it unlocked, ill twitch mouse too much to the sides of the screen and end up looking somewhere off map in the middle of a fight.
Red Side in lane, unlocked occasionally to get more vision of the lane. Global Skillshots unlocked. Viewing other lanes for more than a split second, unlocked, otherwise click on map for temporary view. Anticipating enemy movements unlocked. A lot of the mapawareness you need can be gathered from right there, on the MAP itself. The only things you cant gather from looking at the minimap, is where global enemy ults are coming from, and certain Fog Visible things, such as someone trinketing a bush nearby.

I do unlock and glance around often... if someone leaves the lane i unlock to see if they ward or anything... if i play long skill shot champs on red side i unlock. What is wrong with locking the screen. Idk.

"y" is that button you accidentally press and screws up your camera until you remember to press it again.
I had forgotten you could even do that to the camera
