@Riot, Have y'all ever thought about removing...
Have you guys ever considered removing summoner spells altogether? I honestly think it would help distinguish most champions skills and abilities and keep a lot of champions from being overly strong. It would definitely make certain synergies stronger while making a lot of champions more counterable... and with the addition of the new Keystones/Runes it could open the door to more possibilities to work with and create. I personally think the game would be better/healthier. I think a lot would have to be tuned of course, because I do believe that summoner spells are extremely strong in all aspects of the game, which to me is unfortunate since it takes away from the abilities and skill of most champions. I mean it is kinda silly that Flash, Heal, or Ignite are so necessary for some champions to be strong or reliable to the point that it is detrimental to not take them. I think removing SS would ultimately make it easier to fine tune and balance champions that are either weaker without a specific SS or stronger with one. But alas I would love to hear the opinions, and see why the game needs SS more than it doesn't!
Also a second question: Have you ever considered recreating or rebalancing SS? Or maybe like I mentioned before tying SS and runes together so that you choose between a passive effect or passive abilities that add an extra amount of power to a champion but at the cost of one of your SS? For instance you could either run some iteration of Thunderlords and Flash to have extra burst dmg and an escape tool on someone like Vel'koz who doesn't have mobility, or Windspeakers Blessing and Heal for a support that doesn't usually have access to a heal or shield to keep their ally alive.
ALSO!
This is a question. I am asking the Riot team if they have ever considered revising, removing, reworking SS. So downvote me if you want but it really doesn't matter!
