"If you're a support buy a Sightstone" Overthrow

As always happens in the Boards, trend topics come in groups. Lately there have have been a couple of threads with the same point: "I don't care if pick an apcarry as support because you got autofilled, just buy Sightstone, use it and it's all k". Actually, whenever I see these threads, what I think is just "Meh". Honestly, I don't care if you use a traditional support or not, I don't care if you buy Sightstone or not, what I care is that you PLAY as a support, which means not only helping with vision, but also protecting the team and setting up kills (with cc but also with your damage, considering that's what you're going for) for the true carries of your team (that are not gimped by less gold and, more importantly, 1 less slot). Honestly, if I had to choose, I would prefer as a support a mage that doesn't buy Sightstone but plays with the right priorities of a support, which means peeling for carries, soaking damage for them when possible, setting up kills for them instead of taking kills themselves. I would gladly have this one as teammate over a mage that buys Sightstone, places wards here and there thinking it's all he has to do, than just doesn't care about the team and plays like an assassin waiting for his teammates to take the fire and then cleaning up over the dead bodies of his team. Just my 2 cents.
