Top Lane Mid-Late Game

So recently I started playing top lane and I found it to be fun. Just wanna say that I am not going to play top every game nor I want to main it. But when I feel like playing top I think I am doing good. My farm is decent in the laning phase and I can harass. But I have one problem. I have bad transition into the mid/late game. Let's say I get ahead with 2 kills. It seems that I cannot use this advantage to help my team to win. Most of the times I will stay top and wait my opponent so I can kill him again and push his turret. So I want to improve my playstale. And if I get ahead in lane I want to know how to have more impact on the other lanes and the whole game. Some of the things I want to ask are - when to roam mid or tp gank bot, cuz I don't want to waste my tp for nothing.

Well when I'm top and I'm starting to get a bit fed, I start to look at other lanes on the map as my main objective, although that should always be the main objective in my opinion, incase your Jg gets attacked or the enemy is very pushed to your allies tower which is a easy gank you could do for a free kill/assist for your team mate. And.. if I'm positive enough the enemy Jungler won't exactly come mid after their ally dies I help my team mate kill their turret, because well.. every bit counts you know? But NEVER leave your top lane open if the enemy top laner is still farming/up there, he will start to get ahead and we don't want that do we?

Only tp bot lane if your team is in a battle or you just KNOW they are going to engage, also you could do it if the enemy team is pushing your allies lane very aggressively. Which could give you a sneak attack on them and getting a good double kill, if your team has a good common sense on when to engage, etc.

I've played top quite a bit so.

I won't claim to be an expert at any of these things nor am I, but can give a few pointers that I use. Your top lane experience can be heavily dependent on your champion and also how passive/aggressive you are. For instance if you're playing Darius and you start to win lane (2+ kills) then I'll roam mid if they need it and pop up behind the enemy mid. When I TP gank for bot lane preferably they have a ward (in a bush with no enemy vision) and pop up behind them. This can change depending on who you're playing and varying skill levels. Knowing when to roam can help push your lanes and secure an early victory. There's a youtuber I follow summoner name Arkadian who does a bunch of hepful "Did you Know?" videos.

For the late game personally I go tank more often than not so that the team has a front liner to soak up the damage while the rest of the team focuses the enemy ADC and other squishies. Helpful tip in any game mode in a teamfight make sure someone pings the highest priority target. I cannot tell you how many times my team has focused the enemy tank simply because they were in front. On the other hand you can go for a full AD/AP build up top. I'm not a fan of it especially if my team has no tanks, but I know for some champions and those with a high skill level it works. Hope this was helpful and good luck in the top lane!
