Am I the only one who enjoys overloaded kits?

As a person who could not really find a main person to play when I first started because i got bored of playing of champs quite easily, I have to say that all of these new champions are extremely fun. I like the idea of champions with hard mechanics because I want to feel like if in a 1v1 against the same champ, its not who can mash all their buttons first (Annie, Fiddle, Ryze, Akali) but rather who knows how to work the champions mechanics and who can outplay the other the most. I like champions with outplay potential. Currently my mains for each lane are Top- Gnar/Irelia Mid- Azir/Zed Jungle- Rek sai/kha zix Adc- Kalista/Lucian Supp- Thresh/Braum Nothing gets me more excited then when riot releases a new champ teaser because I'm always curious as to what they will come up with next that fits into leagues theme, but still feels fresh and interesting

Wow, you enjoy overloaded kits but don't play LeeSin jungle?

OP acts like no other champs have outplay potential. Liss has some of the most beautiful outplays ever lol.

Ziggs doesn't have an overloaded kit, but good use of his satchel charge makes the difference between an OK Ziggs player and a great one.

A champion doesn't need a passive ability on every spell, five different mobility options, etc. to have a kit that makes you have to think and out play the opponent. I don't think Braum has an overloaded kit, neither does Lucian.

They're fun to use.

But when you look at them from a balance perspective they're abominations.

You mean you like playing champs who are broken and stomping people who don't play overloaded op champs.

If everyone was honest....there is no one that hates overloaded kits...people just don't like playing AGAINST them is all. That is really what it comes down to. We all love playing Thresh, he is fun, does so much, but the second we have to play against thresh we just flail like a muppet and people start claiming he is overloaded...until we play him the next game and brag about "Dem hooks"

Irelia is just a ball of stats. There's no really outplaying with her. You just win because you stats are stronger than the enemy's.

Overloaded kits are nice to watch because the power is shifted into more than one value rather than one single one. I think Annie is a good example of this. She can burst down a target with zero counterplay. But she doesn't have the tools to get away from it soon after. She litterly has to decide the perfect moment to go in. Overloaded kits seem to have the ability to go in & remain in the fight the entire time.

I think a lot of people like playing overloaded kit. That said i dont think they are good for the game as a hole. I mean look at Thresh. Because he has so much in his kit and can do so much he make a lot of people ask them self why play any one else? You see this with his high pick rate. Same thing with Lucian. I remember a lot of pro say he was good simple because he fit in so many teams.

That why both of them have only been nerf cent they came out.

Braum doesn't really have an overloaded kit. I like playing him, but I don't play him as much as other because his kit is litterally just block and shoot 2 skillshots, which gets really boring if your ADC wants to play passively. An overloaded kit would be more like Azir or Kalista. Sure, you can jump infront of your adc real quick to block something, but that's not really anything new.. its just like blocking a caitlyn ult with a flash :P

If you like outplay potential, I recommend Syndra, Leblanc, Fizz, Lulu, Orianna for mid/Supp Those are some of my favorite champions to make plays with :)

Everyone would need an overloaded kit, though. And there are too many champions to rework in a reasonable period.

Having kits with lots of things going on is not necessarily a bad thing in isolation, but it causes problems when you put them up against champions who are more focused since you can only have a champion do something so well before it becomes oppressive, and the power band that you can have a champion in and still have it "viable" is fairly narrow, so a generalist is often a better pick then a specialist. Most of the new champion designs are better then the older cast, although not all (your top laners are the biggest offenders here unfortunately), but the older designs need to be refreshed in order to bring them into a useful, but not over tuned spot, and until that happens there will be some substantial displacement issues.

i like strategy games, i like to identify good moments for my abilities to be impactful for my team and conquering objectives. overloaded kits come down to memorizing proper keypresses for situations and removes strategic decision making in favor of in-the-moment tactical reflexes. your plan for timing a big piece of cc has zero value when the enemy possesses a tool that will stop you in your tracks completely so long as they can time it effectively.

I don't see any champ as "overloaded" kits. All of them are quite well made imo.

Overloaded kits by themselves aren't really bad. In fact, I don't think there's a single player who doesn't enjoy playing as an OP champ, that's just a general rule of OP-ness. It's natural for people to enjoy playing as a character that makes them feel powerful.

The problem is playing against overloaded champions. Especially when you're playing as a champ that doesn't have an overloaded kit.

So do you enjoy Olaf and Udyr then? They have nothing but a bunch of random free stats.

Honestly I don't think you like overloaded kits, I think you like the most OP or good champions. Not one of those champions is bad or even underpowered in the slightest currently and probably never will be.

They're fun to use, nobody is denying that, but they're not fun to play against, and that's the real problem.
