A message to junglers : Why getting camped in low elo is a big deal.

I've been seeing a lot of posts lately by junglers here speaking up against harassment from laners who get camped and then blame the junglers, and I take sympathize with you'll. Nobody deserves such a toxic environment which does nothing but tilt you.

But I'm here to give you a laner's perspective on the whole fiasco. It's no surprise that getting camped absolutely sucks and in a lot of cases can completely invalidate the lane from even being able to farm in lane.

As a top/mid laner I get camped fairly often and in alot of such cases despite desperately trying to freeze the wave I find the opponent jungler trying to turret dive me instead of my own jungler ganking an overextended opponent. This completely prevents me from being able to farm, causes me to have to give up turret plating, and makes me unable to be able to influence the game in any way for a good portion of the match. Moreover most jungle mains don't even understand their matchups, especially top lane matchups - If I'm playing against a Nasus or Kayle and the opponent jungler is creating pressure to help their ticking timebomb of a laner, then it doesn't matter whether I'm playing an early game champion like Darius I won't be able to 1v2 the moment they complete their first item.

If you decide to afk farm instead of helping your laner in such a matchup it's 100% your fault and coming to the boards to complain about how your laner then takes your jungle to make up for the gold difference isn't helping you in any way or form.

It's pretty clear what Riot has been aiming for with the changes over the last two seasons. Riot wants jungle to be a gank heavy playstyle and afk farming is not an option anymore. Unless you're playing a late game jungler who is going to be strong enough to off set one of your laners falling behind to heavy ganks, you're only pushing your team towards a loss by ignoring the lane which gets camped and/or by giving the wrong lane priority.

Often times solo laners have no option but to return to their lanes even after falling behind, and it sucks to return to lane after getting beaten within an inch of your life, surrendered three turret plates, only to find the opponent jungler jump out of the brush the moment you walk back to lane and go to last hit the melee minion.

The main issue is that "I took multiple bad trades and got below half health, the jungler showed up and I flashed but died anyway" = IVE BEEN HARD CAMPED ALL GAME REEEE WHY IS MY JUNGLER NOT GANKING FOR ME? while theyre grabbing blue buff and a scuttle crab on the opposite side of the map and doing more important things.

It's not the jungler's job to play your lane for you, and I have never once seen a laner who knows what theyre doing complain about getting camped. Besides, if youve been killed 2-3 times in a row without a kill, theyre wasting time killing you again and your bounty is less than that of a creep wave. A good jungler will put LESS attention on that side of the map because they lack the resources for a shut down and the enemy jungler is giving up too many precious resources for you to grab instead - Like crabs and drakes. Junglers in low elo dont seem to know dragons exist, or that they can be worth half an item in both gold and stats.

This sounds to me like a combination of poor wave management and poor map awareness.

Poor wave management: It is always possible to pull your lane. All you need to do is NOT attack the minions and not auto attacking the opponent until the lane is moving in your direction and then last hit. Unless the oppressive enemy is also not attacking the minions, in which case you two break even anyway, the lane will pull towards you. If you already screwed up and started pushing the lane, then you need to hard push it to reset the wave. Alternatively, you can hard push to clear the creep wave and then roam. The jungler can't gank you if you're not in lane to gank.

Poor map awareness: The jungler needs to move around the map to farm. That means the jungler is not always near you. And if the enemy jungler is stronger, or a better duelist, often times the safer move is to move into the opposite side when they move to gank you. That means timing is important. To gank for you, the jungler needs to path to grab his farm AND avoid the enemy jungler, so there are windows of opportunity where it's possible. If the jungler gets into your lane and finds that A) you've managed to push it into an ungankable situation, B) you've managed to go OOM, or C) you've managed to be at 1/3 HP by taking a bunch of unnecessary harass, the gank will not, or at least should not happen.

And then of course there are plenty of reasons why the jungler won't gank for you that aren't directly your fault. For example, if there is an Infernal Dragon up and you're top lane, the jungler will likely be spending more of their time on the bot side trying to get priority. If you're something like Garen in top lane and bot lane is a Kogmaw, jungler will likely prioritize bot lane as the win condition is in bot lane.

Finally, there's the not really gameplay related but still valid nonetheless: You're annoying. If you're constantly typing in chat, spam pinging for a gank, as a jungler I won't prioritize your lane. Why? You're annoying, but more importantly, you've displayed that you don't see the big picture. You only see the your lane, your game, and you're not going to group and go for the objectives I want to take when I ping them. You're going to be that asshat that goes to farm bot lane at 25 minutes when our team wants to do Baron. You're going to be the one trying to 1v5 the enemy team in their jungle when there's no objective to secure, and I don't want our power budget to be in your hands.

You know. I find this funny.

People are complaining about being camped.

People are complaining about junglers never ganking.

So you’re telling me junglers are ganking too much yet at the same time not enough? This just further solidifies my stance on 99% of laners have no fucking clue about anything A jungler does. Remember junglers have THE MOST jobs to do. We have to ahem Win mid Win bit Win top Get every scuttle Invade Ward for our laners Track enemy jungler (not that any of you listen) Steal dragon solo Secure rift Prep baron Steal baron Remove enemy blast cones Help secure turret plates, but don’t dare get take any gold from them Don’t tax lanes Leave lanes after ganks to not “steal” Xp Deal with the fed illaoi All while keeping up with our own jungle

All while also being behind in levels to mid and top, and being behind in gold to mid top and adc.

As a jungler I would much rather take my chances helping my mid or bot lane who isn't getting camped rather than help top who is. Getting camped sucks, I know, but the time Lee Sin spends camping your lane and not getting much gold from the same kill over and over is time I can spend to impact other lanes and secure objectives.

I really don’t see what the complaint is in the OP. Are you saying kinglets should work towards winning? That limiting or severely putting an enemy champion behind, while boosting yourself and a laner isn’t a good strategy? Yes getting camped sucks but you can do things to make it less worth the jungles time to camp you. A lot of them already stated. WARDING (how irritating is it to see people complain about ganks and look at there 0 vision score and two wards or even no trinket in the inventory). Wave management, just stop pushing lane. Listen to alert or missing pings from others. Watch the mini map and ping when you notice something bad is in the works.

Your jungler isnt supposed to win your lane for you bud, learn how to play from behind and evolve, or dont and never climb.

Yea...I couldn't read past this. This is some serious Bronze level shit here. No point in reading further and rotting my brain. If a jungler camps you so hard that you can't farm then he is giving away the game. He will be counter jungled into utter uselessness and he will also be giving up pressure on objectives on the other side of the map. Any jungler camping a lane to the point where they can't farm is trolling.
