Why the fuck does Galio even exist?

Literally, this guy doesn't even counter mages.

He was supposed to be an anti mage but every AP champion, all the way from Akali to Syndra beat his ass in lane and continue to outscale him to oblivion.

I can't think of a single thing Galio does right and I blame his current state on Riot's horrendous balance philosophy. I'm not a Galio main but I believe this guy is very ubderwhelming at all stages of the game and needs a massive rework. At this point I'd much rather play Malphite who is essentially a better Galio minus the ult.

Galio is an outdated concept who seems like he's been left in the gutter to rot for a very long time and Riot doesn't even try to fix him.

Possible fixes:

Reduce ultimate CD
Bring back damage reduction to targeted allies
Cast on cursor not on champions
Increase the speed or range of Justice Punch

Dude, Galio is busted OP right now...

Every mid laner I play as against a Galio, Galio just utterly trashes me, and there isn't crap I can do about it.. He just charges you, Q's, taunts, auto's, GG all your health gone.. If not, don't worry you'll be dead by round 2 once his cd's are back up...

Tried Galio out a few times. Wanted to like Galio because he's fun, but for a tank he feels overly squishy. I think if he simply had a significant base mr increase he would be better as a mid lane anti-mage pick.

Galio had all his damage buffed recently and he's back to being sleeper OP.

His taunt is best used vs ability based champions to keep them from casting their spells. His ult is best used in organized play, not in solo queue and it takes serious practice to use effectively there.

He eats towers between his Passive and Demolish on his Aftershock builds, you can situationally build him to counter all sorts of comps, but he's always going to suffer vs heavy mobility and is himself a slow mover with no real escape from bad situations.

He takes practice, but he certainly does counter mages. Between his magic shield and Taunt he absolutely shits on them.

Well he used to be good...but got too many weird changes after his rework. He is basically a mage that plays like a tank now... just awkward, they should return him to how he was directly after his rework and just try again. xD

His ult CD is complety ridiculous... 200s at 6.. 160s at 18... I really loved when galio had a rework I played with him for a long time until they got so much nerf that it was impossible to play. Exactly same for Zac. And I always find myself laughing when I think riot has reversed the one thing that was still good at Zac rework, and hasn't reversed the various nerfs in the other skills, especially in E. Basically, Zac has gotten a lot worse than he ever was. Now he is a Old Zac but with all skills nerfed.
