Will GP become a popular jungler?

He won't collect as many serpents in lane, but I can't help but feel like the barrels, passive, and heals could be used for jungling. Unfortunately the kegs don't stack on monsters, but I can't help but feel like people will at least try to jungle with him.

What do you think? Will GP be seen sailing the mighty river?

I guess he's kind of like a skirmishing Olaf type of Jungler. He already can do it, but replacing Raise Morale with the powder kegs probably will help with it because of the AoE. So sure, ya I think we'll see a few try it.

I'm tempted to buy him just to check it out.

But, as a scrub jungle main, I do see a few flaws. I can't remember if his Q procs sheen or if that was changed a long time ago, but I think item 3025 could really help with his lack of good cc for ganks. Maybe a item 3116 if you're one of those hybrid/AP Gangplank players.

Yes Q - Parrrley procs on-hit effects as if it were a basic attack (exactly like Ezreal), so it procs Sheen effects. Rylai's is completely worthless on him though. His Ult slows already, and his Q procs his passive which slows. IBG is the way to go if you want that.

You should pick up GP. Get some play on him before the rework goes live.

I don't think his passive will slow after the rework, but I was thinking since Q is ranged, it'll give him some time to catch up into melee range.

Oh well the new one no, the passive doesn't slow (gives him MS instead) and it has a cooldown. But Frozen Mallet would be the choice over Rylai's, if not IBG.

The powder kegs seem to have a placement range a little farther than Q distance, and may be able to be tossed ahead of you and shot to apply their slow.

I am so very tempted to try this and experiment with some builds...

Thing is, I can't top lane for shit, but I can jungle. Maybe I could get GP to work for me... gank for the booty.

He would be a shit jungler even with the new kit. His clears are still slow with the barrels and his new passive and his ganks are pretty terrible as he has no CC or gapclosers. He would be marginally better than he is now, but he wouldn't be a good jungler by any means. He could stay healthy in the jungle, but that is all he would really have because his ganks and clears are worse than Taric and he's not a strong jungler either. People will try GP jungle, but they will be very disappointed.

Yeah, people will try it.

He'll probably be an okay jungler, not top-tier imo. He's got global ult pressure going for him, as well as being able to counter-jungle by setting up barrel traps in bushes (the one between wraiths and red for example) and fucking gibbing the enemy instantly.

I can't help but feel like he will be fun, but not viable.

Although, I can't help but feel, Riot will nerf him if he ever becomes popular, regardless of competitive viability.

But I can't help but feel he never will be regardless.
