Do we need to start barring people from adding friends until they hit a certain level or play a certain amount of games? It was a rare occurrence awhile ago, but now the frequency is just ridiculous.
every time i log in im spammed with 6 bot friend requests and they were all elo boosting spammers. please fix this or im going to go insane

Back in my day... bots were actual people too. Sometimes they was crazy, but sometimes they jussin like you 'n mesa.
Why am I not getting nearly as many of these as everybody else seems to? I get maybe 4 per day, and never have more than 1 of them at a time. I've blocked every single one of them, but of course they just keep coming.
I'm kinda worried that this is a serious issue, this increase in bots must mean that someone got past Riots anti-spam measures.
Yeah, same thing for me, it used to be one or two per day, but now it is 6+ per day and heaven forbid i don't log on for a day, i get double the amount. if i accept one, it sends an instant message soliciting some website, then the name disappears from my friends list making it impossible to report. this is completely ridiculous. it's extremely annoying and worrying because for a while i though my account had simply been hacked. please make this stop. obviously there is a virus in your system riot...

I logged on this morning and had two requests from level 1 accounts. I logged off for a few hours and logged back on; had four new requests, all from lvl 1 accounts.
Oh cool; logged off again and came back on and had another two bots try to add me.
Then the RAF accounts get repurposed for this as well, your move... although I suppose that could be the beginning of a beautiful sting operation.
The bots are getting crafty now, they will send their spam & immediately unfriend you. I've been getting two or three requests every day or so. I just logged in today for the first time this week & there were eight requests waiting for me. Three of them were for the same crappy elo boosting site, the other five were for getting paid to work from home. It's annoying that there's no way to report these obvious phishing spam posts, or a filter of somesort. From what I hear, the issue isn't widespread enough for RIOT to do something right now.
Riots probably working on it right now. I really don't think that it will go on for another 1-2 weeks.
And I haven't get single friend request like that. I guess that's because I never play Summoner's Rift.
100% Agree, Riot needs an out of game reporting system for this bullshit or they need to figure out how to fix it because I'm sick of not being able to do anything about it. It angers me that I don't know who actually wants to add me after a game and who is a bot that just wants to spam my client. :/

Idk, i understand that this can start becoming an issue when ppl who might be a little more gullible will accept the request and get scammed/duped or w.e these accs are doing.
But. Clicking your screen maybe 4 times a day to hit decline is really not that much of an inconvenience and I'd rather have Riot allow this lvl 1 friend botting happen than them put in place some kind of system where scammers will have to start botting to raise their acc lvls because we know that's just what'll happen.

I've never received a friend request from a bot nor have any of my friends. Do they just target specific people?
i went afk for bit to take a shower after my game. when i came back i had 6 bots try to add me.
