Help for a guy who can't play marksmen?

OK, so my brother has always hated me playing marksmen for the main reason that i tend to suck as them. And for a good, long while I could never think or see my reasons for sucking at them. I've gotten used to ranged champs, I know how to play safe despite playing champs like Kled and Darius. I realized that my main reasons for sucking at marksmen though is that my kiting skills with autos are awful. And mainly due to the fact that when i am in a rush of energy I really tend to cancel my autos a lot more than the average player should, and kiting really does require you to not cancel and keep moving. Is there a way i can fix this issue I have, cause I have 0 idea of what video or anything like that is out there that discusses how to fix kiting issues involving auto cancels. Yeah I also have the issue of not kiting when i should, but I feel as if in order to fix that issue, i need to know how to kite in the first place.

Update Note: Ill be honest, this has more so to do with the fact that that I am getting tired of playing mid in most of my games and am wanting to expand to other roles, I trully have no intrest in ranked till after season 7 starts as to not be redundant.

To practice Orb walking (AKA Stutter stepping), just play an ADC and practice on turrets for a stationary target, and then bots for moving ones. Buy nothing but attack speed so you can get some practice in at the higher AS levels. Do that for a bit and you should get the hang of it

Get thrown in the deep end. Play Kalista, and only Kalista. You'll learn to kite or die trying.

Biggest tip I can give you is practice in a normal or custom game. Use minions for last hitting practice and kiting practice since they general tend to follow you if no other minions are nearby :P

Also, play easy champions for kiting. I recommend Ashe, Sivir, Caitlyn, and Jinx to learn ADC. Easiest ones to grasp that don't require a lot of kiting.

When you get panicked, take a deep breath and time your clicks. Using a beat or a 1-2-3 helps slow you down so you can kite properly. I know your adrenaline can run high during the game, so just remember to pace your clicks! Move, attack, move, attack, etc.

Caitlyn is a great way to learn kiting because of her net-trap. Helps you learn range safety and also positioning since you need to set up your traps in places you want your enemy to land on. Sivir is great because she's very straight-forward much like Ashe. Jinx is also good for kiting because of her Q swap that helps you kite at different ranges.

So as a TLDR: Don't aggressively click when kiting. Give your clicks a tempo and take deep breaths to reduce panic.

I dont main ADC, but I do play every position well so feel free to ask any questions you have :D

AA moving is really helpful, I personally find experience to be the best teacher playing and understanding adc and supps is very important in the bot lane.As a side note dont try to one trick adcs' the meta is really voltile down there and very few adcs' are meta resistant

Oh my god you just identified my issues with playing marksmen as well! I've always wondered why I could never play them...
