An opinion on the "fun" of RGM.

Now, I know I'll get downvoted by a plethora of Summoner's for even typing my next sentence, as many can't handle hearing more about it, which is totes fine, but I feel Riot doesn't quite understand what makes their players, and customers, happy.

What makes us happy is URF.

Yeah, I said it, and I'll say it again. URF makes us happy. Why is that such a bad thing, as it seems to be these days, at least on the boards. I played some Nemesis Draft today, and I had the least amount of fun I have ever had playing League of Legends in 4 years of playing. Think about that.. in over 4 years of League, this was the lowest fun ever achieved. We can delve into why.. and we will, now.

----- Why I feel this way, explained. -----

-- The premise, as I were to understand it, was to offer players more variety in game modes, so that we can experience various game types and take a break from the humdrum of everyday SR and ARAM. Great! I like the sound of that, but has Riot achieved this, for the most part, so far? From my own experience, no.

-- While interesting in theory, may other modes don't follow through in the fun department, for me at least, as much as URF does, and back in the day Doom Bots. Now, what could these two modes have in common that many in the community, from what I have read, place so high in the "want" category? It's simple really. OP'ness. That's all folks. Explanation below!

-- In URF, we as players feel a sense of OP'ness as we play due to the lack of cooldowns, no mana constraints and the ability to really build whatever items we feel will help us destroy our opponents in the most devastating way possible. Of course, we know full well that we can also be dispatched quickly, and we're ok with that for the most part, due to the nature of the game mode. Spamming your keys for an intense and chaotic team fight is the most fun I have ever had playing this game. It really is, well, plain old fun.

-- In Doom Bots, the AI get to be the OP ones, with their insane abilities that have been updated and feature combinations of powers the likes of which make us tremble. Multiple Lux Lasers and Bindings, 6 Galio ults in a circle, a rogue Garen spinning out the bush to attack you as you overextend. All of this is made fun because of the OP'ness of the bots, not in spite of it.

-- And here, the reason why, over the course of many discussions and board posts between reds and the community, over and over again we see community members begging for URF and Doom Bots, more so than any other game mode. It's because of the silliness, the outrageousness and the simple OP'ness of those modes that people find real enjoyment, and real fun, which is what the RGM should be about.

Thanks for reading! I accept both up and down votes equally. No judgement here!

I'd just like to see Dominion show up. Actual Dominion, not the DefNotDom variant. At least URF has been in the RGM queue, and Riot's already promised it'll re-appear eventually.

I've actually had quite a bit of fun in Nemesis Draft. It's very enjoyable when some idiot gives you Sejuani you see a lot of picks that you wouldn't see in normals, and get to experiment with champions you don't play often.

Also, while I agree that Doom Bots was very fun and I'd like to see it again, URF has not been fun at all. Of course, the concept of it is great, but people just keep picking the same broken champions over and over again. Riot isn't going to go out of their way to balance the game for URF, so the disparity between strong champions and weak champions is a lot bigger.

I could really get into the long speech I have about URF vs LCS, but honestly the difference in champion win rates, champions played and all of that, is a lot more ballanced in URF then it is in the LCS.

And while I agree nemesis will FORCE you to play champions you don't know (yay all melee teams vs a randomly good comp because one person on your team was like "lets give a team of 4 supports an ADC") couldn't you say the same about ARAM? And if you really wanted to go back into the whole 'nothing makes sense with the team picks, and even though I want to play with a friend I cant because someone else is taking one of the rolls we wanted to play and we aren't jerks so we let them and didn't dodge because where is the fun in that? We could just go back to yoloqueue or normals.

The champions commonly picked aren't even broken. Well, most of them. It's just some stupid ass bandwagon thing, which makes it all the worse for me.
