I know a post was made recently online, but i want to know what you guys think. Who are some good champion to make you better at the game? Not OP champions ,but ones that teach you mechanics, cs'ing or strats for being a better player.

I heard from a friend somewhere that Faker practiced Ryze to help get down basic damage combos, TwistedFate to train map awareness, then put it all together to play a hell of a Leblanc.

vlad can help with csing he is extremely difficult to last hit with, if you get good at last hitting with vlad almost anyone else is super easy

For positioning and split second timing try Tryndamere. He's also a great cs'er so use him as a baseline for what you want to achieve with other champs. For map awareness and last hitting try Shen. If you've got thick skin and can take the abuse then playLeeSin. He'll teach how to mute players.

Shen is fun i've played a bunch of him recently. Tryndamere I've never tried, so i'll give it a go sometime. As for lee, he is fun and hard to play. I'm just not much a jungler.

EKKO He can be playes anything. LITERALLY. Top - tanky with 2 AP items Mid - Full AP Jungle - Devourer Off tank APC - Hybrid with Guinsoo and Gunblade Support - If Lux can be a damage support with a stun, then so can Ekko.

Ekko huh? Not a bad choice. I always forget about him. I'll definitely try a couple with him tonight. Thank you

DO NOT PLAY EKKO TO LEARN THE GAME UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO FULL MAIN HIM!

His ultimate gives him unparalleled safety that almost no other champion has. You won;t get the option to R to live with a lot of other champions, making you probably overall more aggressive than need to be when playing other champions.

Once you have learned the mechanics, however, Ekko is GREAT for learning more complex mechanics such as Predicting and such. He is also a decent champion to main since he is almost guaranteed to be good in about any position. Don't be the Ekko ADC though. Don't be that guy.

I understand where you're coming from. It makes sense but still, I learned the game by playing ZED. Right after playing khazix to level 3, my journey to level 30 was mostly by zed. Ekko came in whenever I need some change/ want jungle or top. And I really think that he will get much better experience with Ekko because he doesn't want to LEARN how to play the game, he wants to GET BETTER. Usaully getting better generally means more experience, so I may be wrong too.

I thought he said he wanted to have champions that teach mechanics. Ekko is very unique and very forgiving, much more than every other champion. It's kind of the same reason I would not recommend playing Fizz to learn mechanics and such because Fizz and Ekko both open doors to do things that not many other champions can do.

Ekko's ult can be used in many ways, not just for escaping. From returning to the jungle quickly after backing, to combining it with a W for a turnaround to a gank, its very versatile. Its not a HEY ILL GET OUT OF THE GAME FOR 2 SEC SO I EVADE EVERYTHING AND COME BACK button.[slayer-pantheon-rainbows]

There are many champions that I would recommend playing in order to learn the game and it's mechanics, with each champion below being the best to learn each mechanic in my opinion:

  1. Farming- Nasus Unknown to most (not really), Nasus will teach you to farm well, who knew. However, he can cause a disease I like to call Tunnel Vision, since he might make you enjoy farming too much. If you can get past that part, however, he will teach the value of CS. About 2-3 minion waves is worth 1 kill. Every time you play a champion, value CS around as much as you valued it as Nasus. Secondly, Nasus helps you with learning to last hit early game. On a side note, if you are wanting to play Ranged more, Kog'Maw is probably a better option here.

  2. Peeling- Maokai Maokai is a great champion for learning how to peel with since he teaches you the value of simply sticking beside a carry. His root and ultimate will be very good and make the process easy and smooth to slowly get you into peeling. While Maokai is amazing at teaching you how to peel, if you don't like him, Rammus and Tahm Kench are also decent substitutes.

  3. Map Awareness- TwistedFate This is huge since map awareness can win games. Playing Twisted Fate, in my opinion, is almost a needed thing when leveling to Level 30. Maybe not all the way, but a lot. Not only can his Q help you learn to land a skill shot, but making proper use of him will make you learn to constantly glance over at your minimap to see kill opportunities. This is huge. While I don't recommend using any other champion for this learning since TF is so good at teaching it, Shen is the second best without a doubt for learning map awareness.

  4. Damage Rotations- Ryze LeeSin (both can be good for learning this and you can choose either depending on if you think you will enjoy Assassins or Mages more) Ryze is a combo mage, Lee Sin is a combo assassin. They both will teach you how much your damage and impact can increase with the right damage combos and such. Out of everything here, besides counter jungling, this is the least important since I would rather have someone pulling slightly lower damage yet being good at farming, peeling, and positioning than someone who pulls decent damage but sucks at every other aspect of the game. That is usually how you end up in Bronze.

  5. Positioning- Twitch Twitch is a very great champion for learning how to position since his ultimate relies on it. Get good as Twitch and you will learn how to have good positioning as a carry, which is huge on carries. You can learn positioning as a Bruiser or Tank pretty easy by learning how to peel or initiate. Besides that, however, Twitch is a huge champion on learning to position well. If you don't like Twitch, Lucian or Miss Fortune are also good substitutes.

  6. Counter Jungling- Nunu Nunu can help baby step you into counter jungling since he does the dirty work quick, leaving you with more focus on knowing where your enemy is and how to approach when counter jungling instead of "Can I kill this quick enough?" From there, Shaco and Rek'sai can help you as well.

  7. Initiating- Hecarim Hecarim is a great champion to learn to initiate with since he has flawless tools for initiating, allowing you to instead focus on when to initiate instead of "Is it possible for my champion to initiate?", although that is important to know too. However, that's an individual champion learning thing, we are talking the mechanic itself. Hecarim will ease you into initiating well. If you don't like Hecarim, you can also try Malphite and Zac. NOTE: Usually learning how to initiate will also teach you how to gank early game.

I used to played lot of Lucian.

Playing him taught me a lot about mana management, positioning and last hitting

Kinda the same thing with Draven except a little less of mana management but more on positioning
