Report Scripting

Why isn't there a better post-game option for this?

It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it's often VERY obvious. I was just in a game with a Xerath, and he never missed an ability, the entire game, except for the occasional flash. Maybe he's just THAT good, but I seriously doubt it.

His name was incredibly 'generated' as well. We're talking about gold tier elo, so we're not bots that are simple targets, and we're also not a crew of players good enough to play at that level.

Simply because if you are accusing someone of scripting, you should also have proof / evidence to back that up. Do you have any idea how many butthurt reports RITO would otherwise get?

Well since it doesn't happen that often and it's quite obvious, it shouldn't be that hard to take a video via FRAPS and contact RITO support then, right? We don't need a post-game lobby report option for such a rare occurrence.

I don't use fraps nor do I have it. And it happens so rarely it's not something I would get just for the very very rare occurrence I'm confident in what happened. And having to go through a separate reporting mechanism does not encourage efficiency in blotting out people who are abusing this game. Maybe post-game reporting is the incorrect tack, but it surely should not be so complicated as what you're suggesting.

I'm pretty sure they could filter out reporting rather easily for the 'butthurt' factor. For example, did their own team report them for it?

What's more, it could simply be a 'flag' upon which they then analyze the game for key data points that indicate scripting may have occurred. Skill accuracy, k/d/a, lifetime skill accuracy with champion, etc. This comes down to data analysis, and even 'false positives' would be filtering their algorithm and massively improve detection performance.

I think Riot's answer to this is "too much false-positives". Basically, people who are butthurt will call out "HACKER!", and they're completely wrong.

I answered this in my response to Cerastes, but I can repeat part of it here.

That's perfectly fine. They're intelligent enough to filter that data and make informed decisions from said flags. Also, it doesn't have to say 'scripting' it could be more generic to include botting, and other forms of gameplay abuse.

They could consider the number of times a player is flagged for such an event before they even begin to analyze post-game data.

I think we, as a community, tend to forget the MASSIVE amount of data that they can access if they build the correct tools. They can assess everything from past performance to in game specifics like positioning and skill accuracy. Anything any professional does, and orders of magnitude more. I'm rather certain that if they put their brilliance to work they could quickly take advantage of community filtering even with complainers, and make an informed decision on who is actually cheating.

And it's worth it, because cheating is something that ruins the game experience and drives people away in droves.

I agree, and down voted the naysayers. They can definitely do better to address this problem.
