Hello. I was looking to build my own Tank build on Bard and I was wondering if Relic Shield would be descent on him. I'm not to knowledgeable when it comes to items and who they work on so if you could tell me if relic shield would work good on support Bard then that would be fantastic! Thanks! 
It is possible to get Relic Shield on Bard, but the passive is completely lost on him because it only procs on melee attacks. Bard of course is a ranged champion. I would suggest Spellthief's Edge for Bard and just build tankier items. I would suggest highly getting a Deadman's Plate as well as any items that allow you to travel the map faster. Cheers!
His autos dont proc it so there's literally no reason to get it.
The others commenters made a slight mistake. The whole passive is not lost on Relic Shield, only the execute part. But if you last hit a minion normally, you still share the gold if you have one stack on the shield. It's just harder to last hit normally than to proc the execute when you are melee, especially when the ADC is trying to last hit too.
That being said, what do you want to do during laning phase? Sustain, poke or fight? Relic is good for fighting, but I'm not sure that's what you wanna do with Bard...

Thank you all for you comments. Ill just get spell thief's edge and build heavy tank items, btw I love to play aggressive, poke and start the fight if I know I can get a clear stun on them.
