overview for RiotCosty

As you can see Riot Costy has been clarifying all over reddit about the voice chat coming to league and has clarified that a former Rioter used their account to post about voice chat. He has said though that although Riot has changed their thoughts and stance on voice chat in League, this is not a feature that is not coming to League anytime soon.

But there are several reasons why it should be implemented:

  1. Balancing would be easier - Most balance changes are based around competitive professional play in which they have access to voice comms I remember at one point Shen was heavily picked in competitive but was not doing as well in ranked because Shen is a champ that requires constant coordination and Shen was nerfed for the sake of competitive and Shen in ranked suffered even more because of this (This change was a while ago so don't come out with pitchforks saying this has never happened, it has and not with just Shen either)

  2. League has become a more objective based game now than previous seasons

    • This means that more coordination is required since objectives more often than not requires coordinated team play, especially with first blood tower money and the increasing popularity of rift herald.
  3. Improvements in champ select

    • Verbal communication in champ select would because people can ask for bans, especially with the new 10 ban system where you can duplicate bans (which is still dumb, not sure why 10 ban isn't what we already have seen in competitive) and ask for lane swaps when they are facing someone they don't like in their lane in champ select instead of missing a wave of cs in game for top and mid to walk and switch lanes.

I know Rito said voice chat is not a priority but they should consider it making one. summoner 14 Teemo summoner 14

I feel like that would work well for high ranked players but not so much in lower ranked/normal games. It's gonna be like listening to people playing CoD. If it happens I'm muting it.

The last thing you want is toxic kids like I used to be screaming in voice chat about how they banged your mom last night.

Not that I ever said that, mine was more incoherent swearing, but Call Of Duty proves how crappy voice chat would be on here. You'd have plenty of new content creators making rage compilations and such though.
