Soraka's E has the most ridiculous version of "Silence" I've seen...

Its a selective silence. It will not stop Garen from mindlessly spinning or any other ability that is already up when they enter the silence field. This is why its utterly baffling to me. Why does her silence only PREVENT the other playing from using spells, it doesn't remove actives or abilities that were already on that champion before they entered the field?

Is this a bug or is it intentional? Because the fact it does not remove abilities that were already active makes it almost completely worthless to stop any champion like Garen or Volibear.

Uh. I'm pretty sure even a stun doesn't stop Garen from spinning once he's spinning, it's not considered a channeled spell.

Nothing stops Garen's spin, just like nothing stop's Wukong's ult or Swain's ult. They aren't channeled abilities, they're toggles with shutoff conditions: recast the ability, timeout, or run out of mana.

Volibear's Q, like all other next-hit abilities, is not a channel either; it's a buff that is consumed upon his next auto-attack.

Silence only stops champions from channeling or casting new spells. It doesn't remove any spells they've already cast. Garen's Spin To Win and Volibear's Table Flip are just autoattack modifiers; they're spells that have already been cast and will keep going until they expire or are used up. Imagine if a silence stopped Dr. Mundo's ult from healing him, or un-Zhonyased people; it'd be crazy.

What are you even talking about? Those abilities cannot be stopped by silence. It's not a channel.
