I have yet to see the item in a game and its an incredibly useful item for Karma as she is the only support that can shield the entire team at once and pass the buff on to everyone else which makes it amazing for taking down towers. Yet I have never seen a Karma in the LCS use this item, is there a reason why that is? I usually get it as first item and it rarely lets me down.
I assume that it's a combination of "Ardent Censer is a generally terrible item" and "my team needs other important active items that I can't afford to get luxury items like Ardent Censer", although I'm not entirely sure.
Basically there's just better options. Ardent is just far less useful than Locket and Mikael's in every situation at least in competitive. You may see it after it's PBE buff goes live but considering Mikael's is getting the same effect I wouldn't be surprised to see pros continue to use Mikeal's over Ardent, it's just too powerful of an effect to pass up.
The one thing that may make you see Ardent is if Sona's changes put her into the meta, which is doubtful for many reasons. If this happens Sona may go for Ardent, although she may also just pass the item up entirely in favour of a more AP heavy build similar to Zyra given the way how Sona works.
Ardent censor is awful 99% of the time
I did see it earlier today in EULCS. Not sure which game, but I thought it was one of the earlier ones.
I forgot that item existed, gonna try it out when the buffs go live. Also, Sona can shield/heal her whole team at once too.
Because the item has been a noobtrap ever since it got reworked a year ago
