What changes would you want to see in Twisted Treeline?

Just a simple question. I understand there isn't a large player base for the 3v3 mode but it has potential to be a fun game mode.

If you could make any changes to the Twisted Treeline format what would it be? Make the lanes and jungle a bit larger? Remove the altars? Increase tower health? Have more ban picks? New items? Update the overall theme to something completely different? There are a lot of different ways it could go.

I'd love a revert to the old twisted treline befor it became shadow island stuff. The old map was bigger, had a top and a bot jungle, unique buff camps and wards. It allowed for far more strategie and didn't snowball that hard cause you could avoid strong enemies by playing towards other parts of the map. If a dominant enemie invades your top jungler, you can go bot to scrap atleast some farm and avoid fights.

In the current 3v3, if you fall behind you basically don't have acces to your jungle at all anymore and snowballing enemies can easily just take over the entier map. It allso makes funneling a strong thing cause the distance between camps and lanes is so small.The altars then just ad insult to injury.

If reverting isn't an option, then i'm for a full overhaul, cause most of the current TT issues come from the map layout so that needs to be changed to have any meaningfull progress at all.

More bans also would be nice, it's the same number of champs to pick from as in SR, so it should have the same number of bans. Wouldn't mind captain(firstpick) bans anyway as TT is probably played 90% by premade teams, cause that's the great benefit of an 3v3 map, getting a team of 3 is alot easier than finding 5 friends to play on a similar level.

-Revert the map back to the old Twisted Treeline. -Bring back Blackfire Torch -More bans

If a revert isn't possible, remove the altars, give the map some more jungle camps, make top lane waaaay longer. Also nerf a few champs such as Teemo and Mordekaiser who make the game too uninteractive and boring. In terms of Teemo just give him a shroom limit. As for Mord, just nerf him in general, he's busted.

  1. 2 bans per person.

  2. A more diversified jungle with clear better and worse camps.(So wolves become slightly less rewarding.) Then Krugs become like what they are on SR, then add Gromp to the topside above where the towers are that could lead in to spider.

  3. Removal of gold generation items. Funneling is just too lame in 3v3 with such a small map.(Else everyone just has to ban Taric, Yi & Graves.)

  4. Make Spider more like Elder Dragon with the increased power each time she(?) is defeated by a team. Also make her apply grievous wounds on hit.

  5. Some actual support for the format. I wish there was like an OP LCS tournament for 1 weekend a year with top 8 challenger teams qualifying for it. It should be played right before Worlds starts.

  6. Tower Plates.

  7. The gap in top lane right above wolves just makes the lane too easy to gank, so it should be closed and the turret moves up a bit to compensate.

Truthfully, I'd just like them to actually care about TT. They aren't removing it because there are just enough players interesting in playing it, but the popularity is low so they mostly ignore it. If this continues, TT is looking at being scrapped in the coming years. Have some events around it or something. Drum up popularity and interest. Something.

When TT first came out, it was awesome because it was so much faster paced than SR. Games lasted a whole 20 minutes compared to the usual 60. Since release, SR games go quicker (~30?) and is quite fast paced. TT I feel has lost its identity.

To start I feel it needs at least: A river (for champs and runes that are based on the river in SR) One way entrances in bases like in SR so you can get out of the base faster An updated jungle (SR has Skuttle crab, Red buff, Blue buff, Dragons, Elder dragon, rift herald, and baron. TT has Vile Maw and i guess technically the alters?)

This would make it feel more current. I know some others have mentioned adding turret plating and more bans but I feel this would just slow the game down and not really add anything. TT should be a quicker more interactive intimate experience in my opinion

"large" changes aside, mostly everyone has been speaking true shit:

IMO, few things would GREATLY help us out with recruiting newer players:

5 bans per team. captain bans 1 time, bottom players ban twice OR 6 bans, 2 per person.

I have no problem with Supp/funnel meta, but its oppressing vs players who don't know what to do vs it. Jungle meta is more fun for flex 3s, but funnel is btter for premades 3v3s, and besides high elo you dont get many premades vs premades anymore. Its usually a premade vs 3 solos, or a duo and solo player in bronze-gold, so newer players keep getting steam rolled by that.

^ to fix it, MAYBE remove supp items. removing supp items on the map now will do more harm then good imo, this is a very sensitive topic that 3s players hate to talk about cuz 95% of us are on ether side of the fence.

More bans

Remove support items

Add some extra items; force of nature and deathfire grasp

Turret plates on first turrets

Jungle camps slighty stronger and give slightly more experience.

When you take down all three camps itll summon a monster buff somewhere on the map, maybe in the altar which can force more fights around the altars.

That's what is start with.

more bans per player up the bans from 1 per player to 2, this will ensure that most blatantly OP crap cannot enter the game.

next up, map-specific champ nerfs, junglers like RekSai and Kayn are almost out of control. as for laners Darius Urgot Garen and most other juggernauts can get a hard hit. there are also some other champs whom can be problematic.

then they can increase they map-specific item pool, currently the only interesting item on TT is item 3170 which i'd have to go and say is actually OP

then the cancerous HYPER meta should go (funneling on multiple steroids including a CC-immune invulnerable Olaf running your entire team down)

lastly buff the altars, currently having 1 altar is crucial due to the 10% MS buff having the second is not that important tough...

there is probably allot more that must happen to that map, as champs and items are currently mostly balanced around Pro-Play and summoners rift which leaves TT horribly unbalanced.

despite that playing blind pick can still be allot of fun. playing off-meta isn't scolded at, champ select can be very diverse, and assassins tend to under perform due to the strong presence of duelists / bruisers. combat is also very fast-paced but often more decided by individual skill.

lets just hope riot implements an official tournament mode for treeline, this would buff up the popularity which would premit such changes.

  1. Remove support items

  2. Remove the MS buff from the altars

  3. Make the jungle harder to clear but worth more gold/exp.

  4. Either increase the ambient gold gain or make items over 3500 gold less expensive.

Similar to others but this is my wishes.

  1. More bans, 2 per person.

  2. Remove Support items.

  3. Turret plates on first turrets.

  4. An additional jungle camp so there 4 camps per side instead of 3.

  5. Make the map a little bigger. This would help to add another jungle camp plus take more time to jump from lane to lane. Not like a huge map size difference but some to make constant ganking and misplaying more punishable.

  6. I like the idea of increasing Vile's strength every time she? killed. Also I like the idea of adding grevious wounds to her attack
