i refuse to pay money for something necessary to do well in this game.

Considering I would usually save up 30k IP before spending it and that I waited for the BOGO rune sales which occur at the start of the season, it really didn't take much effort.
disregardable1 votesYou don't need to. I will say I don't regret it at all. $20 for 44,000 IP is pretty worth. It's nice to not need to delete any of my other rune pages when I want to one-off a build, and that I have a general set of pages in case I sporadically want to try a free week champion.
But game to game, I only use like 3 rune pages.
