Runeglaive Ezreal does same amount of Single target damage if not lower than lich bane damage, however people are saying things like "WOW 50k+ Damage wtf?!" Its cause runeglaive is aoe. I played sion a lot and I did more damage than my ADC because of all the aoe he has. Ezreal as a champion who has the biggest burst in the game with Lich Bane or Runeglaive is still balanced, runeglaive just removes most of his weaknesses.

Waveclear, with the aoe passive of Runeglaive.

Turns his Q into full on Magic damage, before runeglaive it would scale with AP but would still do physical damage because its coded as a aa, however with runeglaive it transfers it into magic damage while also still triggering on hit effects like LUDENS ECHO, giving him reliable poke and allowing him to scale with Magic Pen now.

Mana regen with Runeglaive passive. only got 40 mana? Q raptors and get 80 mana or so back, do it again 2 seconds later. You now have unlimited waveclear in lane cause of unlimited mana due to passive.

Challenging smite. People can argue about smite mid being useless on ezreal but ezreal doesn't really need ignite with all the burst he has, + having smite options gives him a lot of strengths, for example:

Purple smite: allowings huge waveclear and small health sustain.

Blue smite: Can help kite in teamfights, or help slow an enemy in the solo lane so land Q's better.

Red Smite: Its a mini ignite/exaust its self explanatory.

White smite: Sucks even on junglers, self explanatory.

All in All Runeglaive is better on Ezreal than Lich Bane because of all the utility it gives, the utility of runeglaive outweighs the small difference in stats between Runeglaive and Lichbane, which is only 40 AP and a smaller increase in AP scaling on Lich Bane passive. 40 AP is NOTHING.

Runeglaive needs the buffs to be decent on AP junglers that don't have low CD spells, but it's going to make AP Ezreal broken.

I predicted the item would decent on him as is, and now predict he'll get the AP Tristana treatment because of it.

Whenever i play LeBlanc i often buy Lich Bane. OK it might sound silly, but her distortion (almost) always proc's AA. I've even made some math about LB with DFG or LB with.. LB. And it turned out that Lich Bane damage was about 10% lower than with DFG. And only if you used it for full combos. In case where you'd just Q + AA for poke, then Lichbane was actually more efficient.
