Viegar wasn't nerfed to shit tier
He's quite good actually, they only removed his toxic aoe instant stun and made it activate slowly, they should do the same to annie <.<

Except that "toxic AoE stun" was pretty much all he had. All he is now is a very slow burst mage that lacks ways to reliably dish out the pain, and has little to no defense in case somebody decides to kick his ass.
Just pick Viktor instead, he's better in pretty much every way to Veigar.

He has lackluster cc, no poke, minor wave clear. All he is now is an R button.
I played him the other day. He's still fun as all hell. I oneshot the enemy Ahri late game, but I disagree with what they did to his E. You have to rely on the enemy being stupid for it to land now. He never was "competetive" anyway. He's just a fungi.

Not shit tier, I kinda agree, but still deeper in tier 3 than he was before rework. Of all the things Annie needs, its not her instant stun taken away.

He WAS nerfed to shit tier. Then they buffed him. He is now at mediocre tier.
i still kinda wish his dark matter did more damage or had a reduced delay since the stun isn't as reliable.

i think is a shallow half rework that did not really help at all.
In an isolated view, he's not bad.
Compared to every other midlaner he's trash.
Why play a mage that has bad laning, bad poke, two abilities that do nothing, mana problems if he even tries to use his two non-abilities, bad CC, sub-par damage until sometime around 40-50 minutes, and no mobility?
At least before he had reliable lane damage and CC. Then they removed two of his abilities and made the other one a skillshot and upped the CD.
Also, he isn't really as much fun to play because he only has a Q and an R now. You don't even have combos to entertain yourself, you just keep hitting Q praying that nobody notices you.

now. The new Q is quite decent and can be used to poke safely while simultaneously farming. You can easily reach 700 AP in almost every game, more if you go 100% AP. Personally I prefer movement speed AP items. I was utterly butt-destroyed by a Veigar with MS items as there was no way to run from his ult. I bought him and have had decent success with him since.
The current e functions similarly to Bard's ult: it traps enemies in a target location for ensuing AOE wombocombos. You don't need to go for the stun; you just need to trap them and let the cavalry do it's job while you instagib a single target. Yes it's less OP than it was before but if you are currently using it trying to place the edge directly on top of someone you are doing it wrong. Just trap them and spam laugh.
This is what they could have done with his E. Travel time. You get a timer that goes longer based on how far you put it. That way he can still use it defensively against champions like LeBlanc and Zed, while nerfing the offensive part of it. Simple fix as I generally will need that stun since I am slow and squishy.
People forget that the nerfs were meant to be compensation for the removal of dfg. We were told he was getting buffs for a nerf, when instead he got another nerf.
They made him boring as shit.
He's nowhere near as fun to play as he was.
Veigar is definitely not shit tier, and he is healthier, but he's not "good". I like him and think he is playable now, but for someone who now struggles to survive the laning phase even more than other late game champs (
etc ) he doesn't have nearly as much reward. You can never carry a game with Veigar alone because he's only going to ever blow one person up at a time, and items like

counter him fairly well.
Veigar is never the best pick, he's just not a troll pick anymore.
Veigar was at one point nerfed to shit tier where the bulk of the complaints came from, he got buffed. No one is complaining about it anymore thus i fail to see the point in this thread however he is weaker then pre dfg removal still when he wasn't op to begin with so overall he took a nerf. Or was this a closet nerf annie thread.

honestly though i have no clue what riot was thinking making Q a skillshot R would have been a much better ability to make a skillshot cause at least then the enemy about to take 1k+ damage feels like they can do something about it as it is you hear that horrifying noise and then you take insane amounts of damage and im saying this as somebody who used to love picking Veigar due to his ability to completely delete 2 champions from the game every teamfight if he got a good stun off his W and E are in awkward places that used to fit well together, but now don't mesh well with eachother at all due to E no longer guaranteeing a W hit late game.
that being said I overall really don't like the slight Veigar rework but he is still pretty good. You just have to try harder to get less than you would have with him.
If they got rid of the enemy AP scaling on his ult and actually gave some budget back, he could be 100% fixed.
