Unable to bind left click

Riot recently changed it so that keybinds are stored serverside. But now that makes it impossible to bind anything to left click since that was something you had to modify the input file to do. In other words the only way to have something bound to left click now is to have already had it before the change, but unbinding it will make it impossible to rebind.
