Aatrox is Safe and has Massive AOE - he can outplay you, but you can't outplay him

Casting W & Q two in combo AOE's basically the entire lane. There are not a lot of champs that can compete with that. And those who don't have it get nothing in trade in their scaling or stats. Just seems competitively unfair. The massive AOE from using W and Q together also has basically no risk given his ult and dash. Basically no champs have his tools to succeed yet they get nothing to compensate. Fiora and Riven have some tools but are A LOT riskier, and don't have near the consistent teamfight presence. Since all his power budget is in the effects of his spells, he should have very limited scaling. That is if things were done fair and someone wasn't trying to artificially boost something.

If you want players to have to outplay their way to carrying, then the ability to do so has to be fair.

He's actualy quite easy to outplay. His Q's all have a delay, limited amount of time to cast, and can easily be predicted, and all requires to have precise range to effectively use, to the point that even his dashes don't always provide the proper nudge needed. His W is also a lot easier to escape then you would think, even if you're not a mobile champ.

When the team fights come, focusing him down is not that hard really. He builds like any other bruiser, so he's not going to be the most tanky, nor will he be able to outduel those who outscale him, such as Fiora whom you mention, so he's not the best splitpusher, nor can he survive against them in the teamfights since they can survive his hits, but notthe other way around.

Also, item 3033 and item 3165 will f*** him up..

You have to be very successful in lane against him to get the gold to get those items first.

If I was wrong and you were right, everyone would buy those items early to counter him. And the best players would have no issue against and therefore he would not be pick or ban. Well, I guess you are wrong, but its cool bc at least now you know. What matters is how things translate in practice, and during laning what I said in the op holds true.

Pretty sure everyone IS doing exactly that, as he's currently at a 46% winrate. So I'm pretty sure you are the one who's wrong.

Aatrox is not that good. He is a bruiser whose preferred fighting range, stats out of his basic attack range. Garen, Gnar, Jax, Darius are just some champions that can easily engage Aatrox without any good way for him to deal with it

I have a few times and I have played against and with him a ton. Easiest way to understand what I am saying is noticing if you dodge a W laterally, you are often walking into a Q. That is a ridiculous amount of lane coverage with damage and cc. A champ with less in his kit has no compensation for having less, nor should they bc most of them are well defined. But Aatrox getsit all (early, mid late, lane, and teamfight) with scaling and sustain, making him have too much. A lot of champs only have sustain or scaling or safety, he has all of it and then some.
