How do I find a champion that fits my playstyle?

1. Go into the client and look at their abilities.

2. Actually post on the boards what your style is so people can give you suggestions.

Do you like skillshot based champs? Do you like diving? Do you like living forever? Do you like support? Well I don't. Do you like ADC? is a good start Junlge?

Sadly, I've got no good solution. I tried to "analyze" and think rationally about it, but in reality, what makes me truly enjoy a champion compared to other similar champions is usually very intangible. I love Garen, and Urgot, and most Juggernauts, but I find Yorick utterly boring, and I can't play Trundle to save my life, even though they are both very typical Juggernauts.

I do recommend striving to play every champ eventually, which aram can be helpful for. Sometimes you might find something unlikely might just 'click', and then you can dig into it more in SR.

You'll probably figure out what role you like before you find a specific champ, which can narrow things somewhat. If you're pretty confident you like top laners, you don't really need to try playing most mages/supports for example.

Sometimes you can get inspiration from watching high elo/lcs/worlds play, since you can get an idea of how various champs 'should' be played, and while you almost certainly won't be able to exactly imitate it, it can give you the right idea for what the playstyle of a given champ actually is.

Like skills shots? Like to dive? Like to get free shields? Like to not have cool downs? Like to get free ability’s? Want to play a balanced champ?

Thank you everyone who has commented to help me I think I have found my champion. He thrives in the fight and only has one thing on his mind: diving into the enemies faces and killing them. And he can split push.

I always look at their kits in the client, and that gives me alot of info.

Ill give examples of how I found characters I love.

Short cooldown dash, AoE Damage, Life Steal, MORE AOE? I knew I'd love Kayn just by reading his abilities.

Marksman, neat feather minigame that doesn't feel gimmicky, rewards usage of feathers, ult just looks fun.

E looks like fun, Q looks like fun, w.... meh. Ulti is fun to just meme with in voice calls. "EXCUSE ME YASUO THIS IS MY NO-NO ZONE"

Asking for help on the boards is also a great thing to do. Just tell us how you like to play, what champions you like, and what tools in kits you have fu nwith (CC, Burst, Dashes)
