[12:29:06] Amadeus Koch: So expanding on the Sion Maths [12:29:18] Amadeus Koch: Previously, building tanky did not "shoot the passive in the foot" [12:30:10 | Edited 12:30:17] Amadeus Koch: Rather, its basing on maximum HP kinda makes it to where if you chose to wait it out and didn't restore or take any damage, then you will hit 100% HP loss in 22 ticks, no matter what your max HP is [12:31:21] Amadeus Koch: The instatement of the level in the passive makes this actually work against you worse over time [12:32:18] Amadeus Koch: As the factor of the level is linear, and has to contend with your base HP first A Sion at Lv. 1 with no item, rune, or mastery influence has 493 HP [12:32:40] Amadeus Koch: The 16 ticks from earlier using the level system, would deal 200 damage to you at Lv. 1 [12:33:07] Amadeus Koch: At Lv. 3, an unmodified Sion has 639 HP, and the 16 ticks deal 600 damage to him [12:36:23] Amadeus Koch: Since you can only attack while in Glory in Death, it seems that AD is the only viable build path for him, seeing as that's how you would capitalize on that 100% lifesteal and 10% max HP bonus damage [12:37:17] Amadeus Koch: You'd essentially have to beat down everyone in your way, starting with the tanks, with them putting up zero resistance at all to be able to survive for much longer than 16 ticks [12:37:23] Amadeus Koch: Fascinating.

That being said, forget that I posed an issue with Sion's passive. The idea that it's actually harder to work with now sounds hideous on paper, but these extra circumstances that surround it actually warp it around to sounding.... almost interesting again. Now if only Sions with procced passives wouldn't toss themselves at the enemy and die in 1.5 seconds.

Why even use decaying health? Wouldn't be a static time far easier to balance than making the mechanic such a gimmick? Ok I can see they want to make him killable in his second life but why don't make it something like: Duration 4/6/8 seconds and can take 8/10/12 instances of dmg based on his lvl?

So true, riot is full at incompetent people right now, what the hell were they thinking, the speed he decays is noticeable, they don't bother even testing beforehand....

And if you add the fact it takes you forever to die most of the time none is around to attack or heck even if they are you cant because his hitbox is retarded and you are not in range to attack them LOL
