Remove Auto fill.

Can someone explain to me what the purpose of auto fill is? Riot I don't know what came across your mind to do this because 1 auto fill player = 4 players losing = 1 game lost. You're forcing players to play a role they don't have experience in and it affects the 4 other players, each losing 20 LP more or less.

It's just wrong because all it takes is 1 player and for an auto fill; everyone else gets their punishment. It doesn't even matter if you got an OTP or playing your main because we need a full team to know their positioning in team fights, thus, with the auto filler, it's a 4v5 all game and the enemy team wins a free game. It shouldn't be a free match for neither teams. It's a competitive game and everyone should be given their proper roles to have proper fights.

I\m tired of wasting 30 mins to one hour of a game because of the excuse of auto fill. Best part is the auto filled player never dodges and nor does anyone else. The times I usually get the auto fillers are in my promos so I can't dodge twice or at all.

Remove auto fill. Please.

you know, there was a time when everyone was expected to learn all roles, as it came down to pick order chooses where they go.

auto fill prevents extremely long queue times, and can only be fixed by making support a more desirable role, or by scratching the pick 2 roles idea and reverting back to the old system.

Yes and not the entire universe can play every role. Some players are fresh and quickly learning/climbing. I've been playing since season 5 but only started playing ranked after riot's system allowed us to pick our roles. Honestly, I would rather wait 10 -20 mins in queue to have a HIGHER chance of winning a game than 2 mins and losing a 30-50 min game if that makes any sense.

what a 10-20 min queue for you, is an hour long queue for anyone in d1+.

the enemy team also gets autofills. and if we're being honest, to be good you must also know what your enemies and allies can do, their power spikes, their positioning. so if youre good, and get auto filled, maybe you wont stand in the perfect spot in every situation. but its not like youre going to be an adc in the frontline if you have any clue as to how team fighting functions.

Should have been playing when, as they mentioned, it came down to pick order lol. Its similar to the champion select phase of draft.... Without picking your roles. The first person got to ban anyone they wanted.

You could scream and cry and beg for a certain role but if someone higher up in pick order wanted it, they would simply put "pick order." as a big middle finger to you.

You either trolled, learned how to play the different role, or just avoided ranked all together.

^. the trolls got punished, the ones who embraced the system as it was adapted, and become more skilled players as a whole understanding more of the game, and those avoided ranked..well i cant say. i imagine they stuck to normals and didnt have much improvement until team builder happened. because normals is terrible for improving. no one is trying, weird builds and picks. its more relaxed

And it is not even reportable if u get lulu with AP build as ADC because "its just a normal" poeple like this who do not even try should fk off, go play bot games...

You won't actually have a higher chance of winning games since the other team won't be getting autofilled either.

I can understand that it would be frustrating to get autofilled - I'd shit myself if I got autofilled top since I suck there but I know how to choose a safe champ and play to avoid losing rather than trying to win the lane while letting the rest of my team carry me and focusing on the late game. 10-20 minute queues are way worse than you actually think they are since they cause a death spiral that has less people queuing (immediate gratification ftw) and lots and lots and lots of game collapses because people aren't accepting queues since they are distracted or stepped out of the room. We had that setup before with the Teambuilder queue and it was really bad. Riot didn't just choose this system because they wanted to make players suffer but because they've tried several other solutions and this is the closest they've been able to get to letting people choose roles without the system failing because humans suck.

Choose two relatively safe supports and play a couple normals as support primary to familiarize yourself with them and then come back to ranked and just do your best with them when you get autofilled.

Auto fill is needed. The person below me said it the best.

Not to mention, how can you not play 1-2 champions in each role? You don't need to be a god on them. Just need to be able to perform the role well enough to get by and help your team.

That's the thing. The auto fillers do NOT perform well AT ALL from what I've came across many times recently. I'm honestly tired seeing the same issue over and over costing the team a 20 LP loss at a time. I understand that auto fill is supported by people who can actually fill and save time but unfortunately it's not the same for everyone. For sure I may have gotten good auto fillers cause they don't mention that they get auto filled. It's the fact that bad auto fillers are more common to come in contact with.

My auto fillers have been picking the champ they never play or the role. Every role and champion matters when it comes to understanding what you're doing. Not sitting in lane and getting dominated over. At the point of team fights when you need their champion to make a good engage regardless of backline or frontline, it still counts to a good team fight. I don't understand why queue times are more important than competitive play at this point?

a large portion of why people value queue times more is firstly, the 1%, d1+, is a huge amount of people when you consider the total of players. their queue times could easily reach 40-50-60 minutes at certain times of day w/o auto fill

then we have the majority, faster queue times = more games. at the end of the day, if you deserve to climb you will ultimately have a 51% winrate+, and climb. autofill or not.

if youre not improving youll stay where you are, and if your skill is deminishing youll drop down.

example of this: highest ive been was plat 5. it didnt last, got carried a few games. worked it self out and put me back where i belonged. autofill affects games, youre right. but autofill doesnt really have a huge impact on your rank, at worse, it just makes climbing take more total games as a cost for more games in a shorter duration.

People are forgetting half of why Auto Fill exists. Yes, it reduces queue times, but it's doing more than that.

Auto Fill came about because of long queue times on the upper end of matchmaking. Matchmaking would look for players their skill level, then slowly work out from there. Eventually it would find players to fill the spots, but by that time it was who knows how many divisions worse.

The idea was that someone of your same skill level should have similar map awareness, positioning knowledge, and game knowledge as you, and even if they're not a main at that role would perform better for the overall team than someone who is much worse and lacks those skills, regardless of if they main the role.

So yes, Auto Fill speeds up matchmaking, but more importantly it finds better players to be in your matches, even if they don't main the role.

The purpose of autofill is to reduce que times. There are roles (ie. Support) that players just don't want to play, so instead of waiting 30 minutes for that support main to pop up, a player who recently hasn't been autofilled gets filled in the role that the team needs. Personally, I like it, because I'm fairly comfortable in all roles. My advice would be to try to communicate in the pre-game lobby so that all players get a role they are comfortable in.

What Rito really needs to do is bring back Team Builder (where my season 5 homies at?), that system was sooooo good & que times were decent!
