Is vayne just a bad choice in Silver?

Skill cap aside. I feel like in silver right now the majority of players see a kill and take it NO MATTER WHAT. It's like, oh someones low, take it. Mean while, your adc who is in range to AA and is just waiting for next AA to get kill takes the assist, over and over again. I have noticed this happening more to certain champs who have lower poke dmg early game. One of them being Vayne, hence this thread.

So with that being said, that in silver the majority of players do not know to allow carries to take kills when needed. (or if they are playing a hyper carry).

Maybe I should learn a different adc that can poke higher, or have a way to secure kill over bonehead teamates?

If your aim is to climb, then it's generally bad to go for high skillful champs because you're already overshooting the min requirements of what you need to do by far and making yourself vulnerable to mechanical misplays.

I hate seeing Vayne in silver generally because of skill level to play her effectively but also because she is not the best in the current meta. Vayne wrecks in late game but seems like games are shorter than they were last season on average (at least in low elo). So Vayne doesn't reach her late game potential as much.

That and.... 9/10 silver vaynes I play with front line as a tank and die before end game fights even start. Hell.... that is actually a good chunk of silver adcs actually.

Twitch KogMaw easy beat her in 1v1 late agme trade

plus silver adc's are generally trash :( They'll know the champion mechanics but cant position

Vayne is awful silver. Bad gold, pretty bad platinum, awful diamond, trash any higher unless you're Gosu.

isnt Gosu only diamond?

You just need to know how to trade with her early. She actually can beat Lucian in lane when trading properly, and A LOT of Silver ADCs blindly push the lane instead of using real wave control. This leaves them vulnerable to ganks from your jungler.

My tip is to learn how to Q trade where the enemy is backing off due to pressure from your support or the minion wave. You already have E for a disengage and Q for jukes, so it's just a matter of playing her OTP until you learn how to do it. Watch your replays, watch higher elo Vaynes and what they do, etc. You'll eventually find that in Silver, it doesn't take much learning to outdo people.

-Be aware of if the enemy has CC to lock you down. -Keep track of item advantage through pressing Tab. If you have a good lead (like a whole item ahead), you can 1v2 with correct ulti usage if considering the above point of CC. -DO NOT GO FOR FLASHY PLAYS FOR NO REASON. You're the main way the team can get towers, so after bot tower falls you either keep smashing down there or rotate top to grab that tower. -I recommend that you not first pick her unless you're intending to OTP her. -Learn how to predict plays so you can react with Q or Flash accordingly. Probably key to how to use her along with R>Q, but I don't think it's necessary in Silver all the time. It will let you climb fast however, since the ADC controls a lot of map pressure when they start moving with a lead. Vayne is allowed to stall out by using Stattik Shiv second item to waveclear, and until you get that item, cannot easily stall out a game.

I'm silver 3. I get beat by some Vaynes. I beat others. Play whom you find fun, be wary of hard counters.

If you think you are a good vayne go for it.

JUST don't pick her into a draven

If you're worried about your teammates taking kills, finding yourself a support or jg duo would be the best solution

Vayne is not the strong right not in general. Ask any high elo ADC mains and they will tell you to avoid Vayne because you basically sacrifice your lane phase for a potential late game god. Key word here is potential. Since Vayne offers no poke or anything, you'll have to be in AA range to do anything to help your team, which due to her short range means you need to play even more perfectly than other ADCs would to play Vayne well.

I had a game where between me poking as Caitlyn and Shaco ganks, he guessed that he took 15 kills from me. My response is, "I don't care, just carry with that gold." That's all that matters really. Yeah, it would've been nice to be a 15 kill Caitlyn, but the whole thing is that whoever gets the gold needs to be the person who snowballs the game, no matter who it is.

Gold is better on an ADC cause it gets you to your late game power spike faster, but if you are horrible at positioning or get caught out all the time, all that golds doesn't matter. With that in mind, it's much easier to play something like Caitlyn or Ashe cause you can stand in the back and use your abilities to poke to keep yourself safer and allow you to help your team from safety.

To answer your question. You think too much about kills. Kills rarely matter I league and most of the game is about farming and taking turrets. Kills usually matter kate gane during a team fight which vayne has shorter range so it can be tough for her there. Just use a champ with large clear and safe distance.
