Why is there still an option to honor players on the post-game screen?

This option is not utilized and from what I hear, it would be impossible for anybody post-level 30 to receive a banner anyway. I have heard talk of people wanting a similar method to what is used on the new boards; having a number that can go up or down based upon how players rate one another. The league community as a whole is not the most trustworthy crowd, and I could definitely see this concept being bastardized by players: people might gang up on a player for having an off-game.

What do you think? Should the honor system be eliminated entirely? Is it just just a concept to keep players in a check, or should there be rewards for players who consistently display sportsmanlike behavior?

They had wanted to do more with it, and as far as we know, they still do. Unfortunately, it was poorly implemented from the moment it was launched. Like you've heard, anyone with a high amount of games played was pretty much shit out of luck for them, and more often than not you just got people trading honor.

IIRC they are improving the honor system at the same time Tribunal is updated. Something along the lines of judging good players and rewarding them.

The ribbons are still given out as rewards. Right?

It is possible post 30. I got a ribbon recently and I have been level 30 for a few months now.
