If you run AP...rush your Zhonyas...it'll will neutralize his ultimate. Bait out his shadow...it's on a long cooldown...bait it out, and then you pounce once it's gone as his escapes and damage become incredibly limited...also if you're laning against him it's an excellent idea to run exhaust rather than ignite. He's not as hard to deal with as people think and his usefulness becomes less when the team fighting starts as he's incredibly weak in a team fight as long as you prioritize.
