MY Teemo Rework (The Rework that will not occur for another 2 years probably)

Teemo Teemo

He's adorable, but at the same time you are too distracted by his tiny complexion that you start to realize he just shot you with a poison tipped dart. And you cannot hit him, even though you are clearly slashing him with a sword larger than your own body. Teemo is one of the most despised champions in the game's history, and the fact he basically hasn't had any major changes in such a long span of time, does not help his case for his relevancy. Even if he is still one of the most popular champions in the game to date. Is he broken? ...no... Is he strong? ...sometimes?... Is he something you will regretfully waste a ban on? ...yes... You either love him, or you hate him, but everyone feels the same when it comes down to the reality of it all; Teemo, sucks. People hate Teemo, because he has this kit that makes it feel like you are running around on a minefield- his minefield. His abilities have this sense, this sense of distress to them, because once you are his target and he manages to hit you, there is nothing you can do about the damage that ensues. And that, my friends, is some toxic game play right there I'll tell you that. Be honest, how many times have you been a melee top champion and you are facing off against a "decent" Teemo player and you just don't want to play anymore. You just want to afk, and never see this game again. But of course- we all know that you just don't quit League am I right boys? Ponders existence, why his life has lead to this moment. How much have you wanted to throw your monitor through your window because you lost a 1v1 to a Teemo? On a scale of 1-10, its probably shattered glass.

item 3056 (this looked like an easily breakable glass object)

I think when RIOT finally does decide to rework Teemo, they'll hit it on the nose. But for now, we can only speculate. So here is how I will think it'll go down;

Passive: Guerrilla Warfare

  • I think this passive will remain intact, mainly because it's entirely unique to him, and it's simply a fun mechanic to fool around with. Q: Active: Blinding Dart
  • I think this will remain a targeted ability (for simplicity's sake), however it may have additional effects that make this ability a bit less 1-dimensional. Teemo is trotting his way behind enemy lines, what, you think all he has at his disposal is a dart that blinds you? I think giving this ability more flexibility would allow Teemo to be able to make far more strategic decisions, other than the already crazy objective control he gets from his mushrooms. When I mean strategic decisions, I mean an ability that can be used several different ways, like TwistedFate Twisted Fate's W, Pick a Card. But rather, 'Pick your Poison.' Like;
  1. An actual blind, one that reduces your vision radius
  2. A grounding dart, one that prevents you from casting mobility spells (we all know how common those are now days...)
  3. A dart that slows the target This would give him much more outplay and counter play potential. W: Active: Move Quick -This ability has to go, its easily the dullest part of his kit, and it's not all that exciting to use. It may be kind of useful, but in a meta game where dashes are king, there is no way he will be able to keep up no matter how fast his little legs can take him. He must be able to hop right? Yordles have to somewhat be related to rabbits, so giving him a 'dash' would vastly improve his chances of survival, and make engaging much easier. And if he realizes he made an awful mistake, he'll get punished for it. Or perhaps, abandoning the 'no dash' equals no meta game philosophy, this ability is entirely a passive and whenever he falls below a percentage of health, he gains a massive increase in movement speed for a short duration, giving him time to escape, or get horribly cced. moving an attack speed steroid onto this ability would grant him improved kiting potential, and overall his entire kit would benefit from it. E: Passive: Toxic Shot -I have mixed feelings about this one. Its one of his best abilities... but its also the most irritating during the laning phase. In the case of this being removed or left untouched, I would have to go with removing it.
  • In case it stays: Toxic, indeed it is. giving him sustained damage on every auto attack is extremely aggravating to any melee champion that happens to be facing off him. Making this an active ability, or just a 3-hit, or a 5-hit consumable passive, would make it so much more healthy for the game. Teemo is a guerilla warfare artist, he shouldn't be dragging out fights against his enemies, he should be swiftly executing them as fast as possible before anyone notices. After all, you don't just walk up to the enemy in stealth and duel them for several minutes. No, you look for the kill, the perfect moment to strike...

Combining this with an attack speed steroid on his W, would apply the final stack almost immediately, making kills come to you easier.

But If I had the choice, I would move his R onto his E, lower CD's, but much less risk of losing half your health to an undetectable mushroom. Changing the way you place it would also be cool. I'm thinking in a channeled cone, similar to Zac Zac's E, Elastic Slingshot. Teemo grabs his slingshot and a mushroom and decides how far he wants to shoot it. It can explode on contact for immediate damage, or lay on the ground awaiting it's next victim.

R: Active: Noxious Trap -Oh baby, here we go. I know I just explained how I would want his R to be his E, but there is no way in heck that would ever happen unless I somehow found a job at RIOT games where I get to make all the decisions. So we all know Teemo isn't known for his crazy team fighting ability. Buuut, changing his R could change that... (I'm not suggesting they remove his mushrooms alright?) Teemo is one pesky son of a gun, and you know you are willing to chase him down to the ends of the Earth in order to kill him, so why not take advantage of people's predictability and emotions, by leading them into one BIG TRAP!? Like he sets down a net, and when at least 3 champions are on top of it at the same time, it hoists them up in the air, suppressing them for a couple seconds, and granting his team time to set up, thus, making him a master team fighter. While they are suppressed, Teemo's next auto will knock them back a short distance away from where he is currently standing.

Now, all the changes to the abilities I described might seem broken as HELL. But just think back to every time you saw a new champion's abilities and thought the same exact thing. Broken, busted, POG Champ- we'll never know until the champion is available on all live servers.

So I hope I inspired some though provoking topics in your brain today, or tonight, whenever you are reading this. I want to hear your opinion on a Teemo rework, what abilities would make sense, what don't, and how would his character overall be changed.

Thanks, for reading Teemo

Reasons why teemos kit hasn't change when it was suppose to was because the fans still liked his kit. A lot of people just like the kit the way it is. Shrooms still do about half a squishies' hp and his q is still strong. If anything is going to change/modify, it's most likely his w or e
