I completely agree. I always liked playing a game or two of dominion every once in a while, even though I wasn't a hardcore dominion player. Not to mention that we lost hide and seek along with it, too.

Honestly Riot lost a lot of goodwill when they hard-removed Dominion.

I joined this game specifically for Dominion. The only friends I had in League all played Dominion.

Who cares if the population was fairly small? You have no trouble spending millions of dollars on one-off maps, including all the musical and graphical assets for them, running them for a grand total of 6 days, then sending all the money to the void never to be touched again.

The 'cost' argument Riot presented loses it's validity when you look at all their bragging over the money a single Esports skin generates.

You know what they could've done if they were so worried about the cost? Make Dominion (or more Ascension) themed skins and have the profits from those go PURELY to paying Dominion's upkeep.

Heck, make it a yearly themed event. Goodness knows the community is starved for those since Harrowing and Snowdown no longer really have 'on time' scheduled things anymore.

But no, Riot decided "Hey, you know that tiny village over there? Few hundred people in it? You know what would reallly be a good idea? Let's burn it."

Because that's how you show you're a great person right? Treating your minorities like ****? [slayer-jinx-unamused]

I liked Dominion more than Twisted Treeline.

Lately I been playing a LOT OF twisted tree line, and with the success of the recent Dark star Thresh map, while the many others such as nexus siege have failed horribly, this is what I believe what the fans want.

We want a game mode that doesn't just feel like wanky bullshit, we want a game mode that is fast paced, but at the same time makes us think on how to win. To my knowledge with the exclusion of urf and one for all, Acension is the next most loved game mode. But why is that?

What do acension and singularity have in common?

They are both game modes that are fast paced, make you think, and you can only win if you actually put effort into winning, it doesn't feel luck based, but at the same time, Since it's fast paced, you don't feel so drained after you lose, your eager to start another one.

They removed it because of " lack of resources" Pretty much : " FU, only SR is all that matters , watch LC$ and buy our skins ! " I'm surprised TT and aram are still there. I miss Dominion. I farmed the IP so easy there and shit was balanced

" The money spend on Dominion could've used for upgrading SR" SR IS THE SAME SINCE ITS FUCKING REWORK And i almost wanted to quit the game when they deleted Dominion.

Dominion was one of my more favorite things. it was one of the few things that was actually fun, it didn't have that grind feel to it.

I enjoy league, but for the competitive nature of it. Dominion was just plain fun.

I remember when they announced that if you had 100 wins you'll get the Dominion icon. So i cracked my knuckles, took a deep breath of Zaunite air and put my broken fingers on the keyboard. After Zilean sped the time up for me (Thx for that btw.) i finally found a match.

Some people didn't know how to play the Mode. Jhin Wonderful! I could only expect the same from the opposing team.

We got into the game and approximately 15 / 20 minutes later. I couldn't believe it. It felt better than Twisted Treeline. It was like a trip back to the past and it felt amazingly fresh. Even the camera angle made me think if it's different because of how much visibility i had.

The map was gorgeous and the game mode a ton of fun.

Although..after playing 3 games i realized i had to have 100 games prior to the announcement to get the icon.

But it still opened my eyes.

Thanks Dominion, for being there when nobody could see you.

If not just bringing back Dominion full-tilt (rito plz) I wouldn't mind if we got Crystal Scar days when the Rotating Queue isn't active. Basically, we get three days of one crystal scar map before moving on to the next one. Have 'em rotate between Dominion, Ascension, DnD, 'n Hide and Seek. It would certainly be better than nothing.

Me too. One thing I miss in, particular, was reaching full build in less than 15-20 minutes. Barring Ascension, no other game mode offers that kind of fast paced gameplay without being either too snowbally or having a constricted viable champion pool.

Most people didn't like going bot lane, especially after the introduction of trinkets, but it was my favorite role. Dominion actually made laning fun for me, when I otherwise avoid it.

Dominion was a great map for learning champions. Unlike Summoners Rift or Aram where you're not guaranteed to get the champion you want due to random or roll restrictions, you could just straight up pick that champion and start learning. I did this a lot back in the day for Malphite. And then I started to love Dominion as a whole because it taught you many things about team fights and positioning that Aram can't.

LadyRenly5/16/2017, 10:29:10 PM3 votes

Why cant this come back to rotation?

I'm bored as hell. Dark Star didn't do it for me, and I am kinda sick of Ascension and 10 minute poro king

Lux Is Mai Waifu5/17/2017, 3:02:35 AM3 votes

Dominion was great when I wanted to just play a certain champion, not summoner's rift. Now I autolock in blind and make that queue a lot worse than I did by doing it in dominion.

Jamenawerl5/17/2017, 12:02:55 PM2 votes

Oh, so you want to play ASCENSION?

Your wishes are orders, the next rotating game mode will be ascension ONCE AGAIN. Thank me later.

That was a game mode...?

What!? WHERE IS IT!

I miss more "Definitely not Dominion" map. It was funny map where any hero can be played. In normal games ranked drafts you are pushed to play one of style. In Abyss its random. In TT are only 3 players. I really miss some mode for "free to pick" like Dominion or not so much Dominion. Some kind of arena for free fights.

AbyssionKnight5/18/2017, 7:57:30 AM1 votes

Dominion was my favourite gamemode and while I was salty and upset when they removed it, I absolutely understand why they did.

The gamemode wasn't really well designed, since if you fell far enough behind, the enemy team could just spawn camp you and you'd have little to no counter play. In those instances you didn't even have any base turrets to fall back on for defence. Balance was an issue, and later bots also became an issue, and because it started with a small player base it wasn't profitable to make balance changes to the map, which meant things got worse and the player base dropped further and further until it was no longer worth the effort for Riot.

The gamemode also in part limited Riot's creativity, since things like Azir Passive,Morde's Dragon Ghost, or Yorick's Ult wouldn't make sense at all on Dominion, where there is no Dragon or destroyed towers. Riot had to either intentionally release things that were broken on Dominion (which admittedly they did a fair bit) or they had to hold back from using those features entirely.

I spent the first 9 months the gamemode was out playing only dominion, and encouraging all my friends to play too, but while the matches were exciting and fast paced, most people just didn't take it seriously, with a lot of my friends at least saying it lacked any real strategy.

I'm sad to no longer be able to play Dominion, but I'd rather the gamemode be retired than have it be an unplayable mess.

I played League so much more than I do now when Dominion was around. It was just all around more friendly playing environment for casual players. Well at least I have the icon as a reminder of the good days.
