Why is Riot rebalancing AP items when there are so many other things that should be fixed?

Is there any reason why Riot is rebalancing something that is not nesscarily being complaining about, but not fixing the many other things that have been needed to be fixed for a while? Because I've love to know why.

I have never heard one person complain about AP item inbalance. I might have been annoyed every time I needed to build item 1058 and had to wait forever for the gold, but I've never found anything wrong with the AP system that it would need to be rebalanced. Like, I understand, change is good, tweaking and adapting the items to newer metas makes gameplay better, but what about the many champs that have been waiting for months (or even years) for a rework? What about Syndra bugs? What about other lasting bugs in general? That new Darius bug?

How about some VU's, or some splash updates?

Like, cool, Riot is doing something new. But this isn't what we need. So can we please stop messing with things that are currently OK and fix the old stuff before we bring in the new? (It's just going to cause a bigger mess.)

The team that works on items is not the team that works on splash arts or models, or the team that works on champion balance, or the team that makes skins or new champions or makes sounds.

Is there any reason why Riot is rebalancing something that is not necessarily being complaining about, but not fixing the many other things that have been needed to be fixed for a while? Because I've love to know why.

For two reasons

  1. As Lord Dusteon said, Riot is a group of teams working on one big project together. Team A and Team B don't work on the same stuff, they work on different parts of the entire thing. They communicate with each other, so that two teams don't make a pair of counter-intuitive changes at the same time, or overcompensate for the same change...but at the end of the day, the people that make League of Legends look pretty are not the same people that keep mechanics functional, and so on and so forth.

  2. Riot doesn't just act based on the community's complaints. They take into account some of what is being said, but they are not at the whim of what the community asks of them.
