Opinion: Tanks Shouldnt Do Much Damage

Before you search up my op.gg profile and stuff like that, yes I am silver 4 but I want to adress something.

Tanks are just not fun to play against. They don’t take damage and they do tons of damage. Most also have some form of CC in their kit aswell. I really REALLY enjoy being 1 shot by a vladmir who has 3k hp but can do 1k damage with one ability. It really is sad they can do more damage than most adcs can, and no im not an adc main, I main katarina. Take a look at Ornn. He doesnt take damage, you cant trade with him because he out damages you, and has knockups and a slow. I really am considering maining a tank like Ornn or Vlad to get out of silver because they are the best right now and have been for a while. It really isnt fun to play against them. I am 100% for tanks in the game because every role plays an essential asset in League, but please nerf their damage if they don’t take damage.

Vlad is not a tank. He is an AP bruiser; it's appropriate for that kind of champ to do damage.

That doesn't mean I think Vlad is perfectly balanced at the moment, of course. But he has very little cc and AP scalings on almost every ability. I don't think you can justifiably call him a tank.

Vladimir isn't a tank. He's a CQC battle mage. He'll blow the fuck up under focused fire and CC.

Ornn however, I can agree with, and this isn't really simply because of his damage being high though... It's the fact that he does a LARGE chunk of AoE %HP damage, while being entirely immune to CC, gaining a hefty shield, and reducing his incoming damage by an enormous amount as well.

On top of his chain CC.

It's virtually impossible to win a trade against Ornn, and his teamfighting is excellent. Plus the benefit of having him on your team is amazing as well, with those special items.

Riot decided the game was getting stale and needed big changes. Hopefully they will do a decent job rebalancing everything else over time since they realized that crit ranged carries were warping and slowing the game.

Vlad is hardly a tank, tanks are defined by have some kind of damage reduction in their kits. Either through a self shield or bonus armor and magic resist or flat damage reduction. Vlad has none of those, he only heals based off of his damage done, he was probably fed when you got killed by him magnifying his apparent power. Buy grievous wounds when battling against a champ that has high amounts of healing during fights like vlad.

I'm also S4 and think WR means a heck of a lot. People that want Ornn nerfed into oblivion probably say the same about Illaoi just because they don't know how to counter them. I play Ornn very regularly as a Silver player and don't think his kit is as broken as other champions like Trynd or Garen's.

vlad is not a tank, i mean i agree tanks shouldn't do much damage.. but with the amount of damage in the game right now.. every class does too much and i don't think tanks are out of line in comparison to other classes

tanks do damage in 3 ways:

high base damages cuz they typically dont build ad or ap , they are building tank having aoe damage to be able to damage more then 1 enemy at a time in fights having tank stats and sustain to survive longer in fights therefore does more damage by not dying easily, also see #2 of aoe damage.
