Why do people say im a bad riven?? i dont understand what makes me bad? theres no way to be better at riven. i went against a vayne top who kited the shit out of me. She condemned me everytime id get close and i wouldnt be in range to stun her, or even if i did use my w she would just stutter step away from me and keep kiting while my abilities were on cooldown. I was just countered. I dont understand why im considered a "bad" riven. In the end, people want to report me for feeding when they couldnt have done anything themselves.

Okay, well, first thing: Riven is almost never going to build any kind of defensive item because she has a shield that scales off AD. Standard build is like Cleaver, BT, Hydra. Unlike other fighters, you can't compromise and buy defensive items because you are just guaranteeing you will be useless.

But here's why you're almost definitely a "bad Riven", you're not good enough to play Riven properly. Riven is one of the most mechanically demanding champs in the game. For example, you should be animation canceling every Q. Q->AA->Q->AA->Q should be seamless and lightning fast. Riven is balanced around what good players can do with her, if you're not animation canceling you are going to be bad with Riven, it's that simple.

Now, I know what you're thinking "Okay, well I'll just practice really hard until I get that down". But I'm telling you now, that's a really punishing, unnecessarily difficult way to get better at this game. Just play someone that's easier to play. There are a lot of aggressive top lane fighters that have a similar "bully" pattern to Riven that are way less demanding. Like Pantheon, for example.

People who play an ADC top lane are annoying I'll say that especially against riven cause all her abilities you have to be face punching your enemy.

As for countering a Vayne top lane...you really cant, the best you can hope for is your JG camping top lane to help get her dead.

It doesn't mean your a bad riven it just means you have no counters for her so your team will turn salty, instead of them helping all they do is talk trash, when they are also responcible for not helping when its obviously needed.

Also, because condemn has a longer cooldown than everything on your kit but your ult.

because norms are too easy. And I dont think im that bad. I know how to "q, auto, click on the ground", to cancel your attack animation. Besides bronze 2 isn't too bad anyways (at least before the season reset, not too bad).

I suppose it also matters which lobby you play in more, the player quality adjusts to that too. I didn't end up getting serious with my main in ranked until I had about 3-400 matches with him. That being said, good luck [slayer-jinx-wink]

riven has bs scaleins on everything with high bases and moderate cooldowns starting out getting lower as she both levels her skills and builds cdr is mobile tanky with her sheild and side of hp and life steal she builds if you build right or any almost anything thats not ap but what people use to tell a good riven is use of animation canceling something that wasnt meant to be used like it is but even the people who made the game accepts it as part of how riven plays rather than just fixing her. by pressing 'S' or 'H' or any other button that stops champion actions half way through any of her spells or auto attacks she gets the next movement spell or attack faster and there is no way you could know this unless you already know this.

Riven is a direct skill matchup. I mean this as nice as possible, but the fact that you can't even fathom how a riven could stop a Vayne is a clear sign of amaturity/current lack of skill with the champion. Just keep playing, reading up on her and learning all the bugs in her mechanics.
