Make lane calling more concrete

Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section, but it seemed like the best place for my post.

I've been in several games where, during champ select, lane calling becomes an issue that either disrupts the way the game is played, creates tension between teammates, or causes dodges. The issue is that typing your desired role in the chat box isn't the smoothest way to call a lane. Sometimes chat messages get sent before other players have entered the room, or people will claim to have called a lane in this way when the truth is that someone just beat them to the punch. Copying and pasting the chat works sometimes, but then some may claim you could have edited the chat.

I suggest making lane calling something concrete - a button you click once you've entered the room before you can select a champion that designates you as top, mid, jg, sup, adc, and maybe even fill (idk how useful the last one is, but some say it). If afterward a player had an issue, he could then request a switch with whomever got the lane he wanted, sort of like swapping in ARAM. This would eliminate a lot of confusion that comes from either players not paying attention to chat or just straight up trolling. I was just unable to join the queue for 6 minutes because somewhere between calling a lane and selecting a champ, another player started an argument about who called what first. This was very distracting, and by the end of the champ selection timer, I failed to select and was penalized for being trolled. I realize that 6 minutes isn't a long time, but it's frustrating that this kind of thing can happen due to the somewhat subjective nature of calling lanes.

Having a button to press wouldn't exactly solve the problem. It would just be giving it a new way to present itself because at the end of the day someone is getting what they want and someone is not. The sad truth is that there simply isn't a way to ever fix this problem because this is how the game is played; this is the meta of league of legends. There are specific roles and lanes for everything and that is the meta in its entirety--wanting to play a specific champion requires a specific lane and role for it, or otherwise it will create tension anger, and may not be effective as it otherwise would be. You selfishly assert yourself to the front of the line and claim what you want or you relinquish it and take the scraps. That is how League of Legends presents itself and its meta. That is how its played. That is how it sadly must be.
