Trolls in champ select
TL;DR - I hate playing with obvious trolls to avoid dodge penalties, and I can't be the only one
I wish that there were a way to reroll your matchmaking lobby when you can tell from champ select (in draft queue) that your team is full of trolls. It might just be me, but I can't count the number of times my teammates do nothing but argue or exhibit otherwise toxic behavior in the champ select lobby, and I can tell based on this how they're going to behave in-game.
Example: I just left (lost) a ranked game in which I had first pick and asked the jungler if if was going to play a tank, because I wanted to build the best comp we could. He hovers
, so I pick
in order to give us a strong front line. He suddenly changes to
,and his duo partner begins to complain about the enemy team comp because they picked
(incidentally, my main champ and the one I wanted to pick originally). Understanding that the previews don't represent an obligation to pick as you indicated, this in itself would only be a minor annoyance if not for the fact that when I comment on it, the two of them instantly began a flame session that would last through the end of champ select all the way to mid game at which point I had to mute them. Meanwhile, there's no cooperation in game and we lose due to feeding from the very duo in question.
It was apparent from the beginning how toxic these two players were, but because Riot punishes you for abandoning champ select, my duo and I were forced to sit through it all and ultimately lose. In-game performance/skill level aside, playing with toxic players makes the whole game a negative experience. Even had we won, I still would've felt drained by the end of this ordeal and likely still would've made a similar post to this one in the near future. Can someone explain to my why players are punished so for trying to avoid situations like this? Am I off in my reasoning, or would it be beneficial if the dodge penalty were less severe?
