Seriously, what was Riot thinking when they decided to give Malzahar a passive 1 second spell shield + Kayle ult which scales to every 6 seconds? No champion should have an ability so forgiving that he doesn't need to worry about being caught out by 
hooks or 
bindings without vision or at least having to buy 
which has a 7.5x longer cooldown. And it's his PASSIVE. That's right, he doesn't even need skill to use it.

I agree that it's ironic as well to give it to a champ known for his CC ult. The damage reduction is fine, the CC immune is not.
Ya his Passive is super OP but it is balanced by the fact you can remove me with any attack
You just have to play vs him like you do Yasuo. make sure the shield is down before you trade.
Foe me the part of the passive that is OP is the 90% damage reduction.

Agreed. I saw a suggestion on the boards that he should get the current passive when he casts his ult and ONLY then. That would allow him to ult the enemy backline without immediately dying or having it cancelled, but not make him impossible to catch out.
They would have to give a new passive though, maybe make his voidling generation tied to his passive (IE you only get 1 voidling at the start of the game, but you can get up to 5 at lvl 18 or something). W rank on live doesn't affect the # of voidlings, just the cooldown and damage of each one. IDK that might be too much of a nerf.
You can pop Malz's "spell shield" with an AUTO-ATTACK. He also lost a lot of his old damage in the rework. You can nuke the voidlings and halve his damage output.
