Game feels so stale right now

And no, I'm not talking about dynamic queue, that's another problem altogether.

I just can't enjoy playing the game as a whole anymore. Even when I play with friends, I can only get motivated to play 2 - 4 games a day. In seasons 3 and 4 I could play 10+ games a day without friends and still want to play more. I don't know if it's just been running dry because I've been playing for years now, or if it's just due to gameplay changes in season 6, but I can't have fun with this game anymore.

The only thing keeping me here are the friends I play with, and some of them have already left League to play other games like Overwatch. If League keeps headed in the same direction it is right now, I think I'll be soon to join them.

Personally, I say just join them for now. You can always come back to League later and hope it improved. Getting away sometimes helps a bit

Same here; my friends list from season 1 to 4 stayed a bit over 50. But since season 5 it's dwindled, there's barely a dozen that even log on anymore.

Honestly it's probably a little of both, I too am the same way, Season 3-4 I would play tons of matches, season 5 I still played a lot, about half way through 6 I started to slow down. To be fair I started a new job so I have less time for it but when I have free time It's not always the first thing on my list.

I think, for me personally, there just isn't anything new. Like the recent champs haven't reached out to me, the mage update and marksmen update aren't really the roles I play. Another point is the gameplay has become more defined, which isn't a terrible thing, but characters are only played certain ways more so than ever, you only see like a third of the roster commonly played, and builds are more stale (example: youmuu's, BC, on a bunch of ADC's)

I mean I still play the game and I don't really want to call it quits but I feel like the game needs a revamp on things. Maybe in the presason when the assassin update happens items and champs will change and pique my interest again. Hopefully I'll be there for it.

same here, just that i know for sure that it's the gameplay changes. Games are just more snowball and feel like stomps most of the time, and even when you get a comeback, it's not really a comback but usually just a massive throw of your opponents. There are plenty of things working to gether to cause this, though the 3 main offernders are damage-creep, new champ-design philosophie(Everyone NEEDS a UNIQUE strategic niche and we go ham on strengths/weaknesses) and vision.

What? You don't enjoy the irelia/hecarim meta? Don't worry in 3 months it'll be back to the assassin meta. Then another ADC meta. Followed by a bullshit true damage meta. Then back to irelia/hecarim.

I suggest finding something else to do with your time.
