Over the past couple of weeks ive non stop been seeing ezreals rushing an iceborn gauntlet and i just want to know why. Ive seen atleast 5 ezreals do it recently and not a single one of them went close to positive. I checked the winrates for the build and its just abysmal, so why does every single ez build it? I can see it being useful in a situation where they have like 3 AD assassins even then its still a bit iffy on if its even good.

IBG gives armor vs other ADC, a ton of mana to spam and AoE damage for teamfighting. Triforce is for single target burst from higher damage but IBG does more for survival, teamfighting and utility. IBG also waaaay cheaper than triforce so they get their power spike sooner

Pika Fox1 votesBlue ez does decent damage, but the object isnt to do damage, the object is to kite. Ez shouldnt be 1v1ing the enemy ADC. If they are, either youre messing up by letting your ADC run around solo, or theyre messing up for running around solo.
And lets be honest; No ez is going to match trist or draven burst, IBG or Trinity.
Pika Fox1 votesIceborne is great for ez if you need to play more defensively and kite against the champs the enemy has picked or because your team doesnt have the champs to keep him safe enough.
That being said, gauntlet ez wants to spam Q a lot more just to get slow fields down, so generally youll get a tear first.
IBG ez is fine, its just an alternate build that serves a different need for the game.

Of you can gimp an immobile opponents ability to do things that can be worth more than damage.
And dead DPS is no DPS. IBG ezreal is my solution to a game where you REALLY don't want to be an adc
Kàzzy1 votesEzreal has a free flash every 15 seconds with long range poke like hes a very safe adc theres no need to stack armor. Especially with everyone taking stop watch in the current meta and a tank constantly shielding him as long as you arent bad you shouldn't have to worry about assasins
Sirsir1 votesYou're assuming we even have a tank. There isn't always one, sometimes you have a bruiser or a teemo.
Theres very little a tank can do to keep a competent Zed from oneshotting you over a wall with his combo and electrocute, then ulting someone else
Your Q can only do so much. If you aren't autoattacking you aren't being very helpful
I'm not saying take IBG every game, but it does have its uses, usually as a lemonade situation
