an actual unpopular oppinion

as an AD I know that if the game lasts I will win. I'm actualy that much smarter in late game than most of the AD I play against.

the problem is... and this apparently is the unpopular oppinion... I like to be passive in lane unless I Know it's a kill. I like to bait the enemy into a diving fight so the jungler can sweep them as I hide behind turret at 30 health. I like to freeze lane even if it's slow pushing. and I like to split push too often because even tho it's awk on an AD, it stalls the game out well.

If I knew in advance if my teamates would be bonobos or well-organized, maybe I'd group more :P no offence meant with honest adoration. y'all're cute with your 10 deaths and blaming me for the fed jinx (with me on 2-3 deaths) but honest... have some patience for the late game, if you aren't doing well. Please. For me, the AD who will carry you when you can't carry me.

I don't have a problem with this attitude.

The issue is IF you sit behind your turret and don't engage during a team fight., ie if the ADC farms during team fights, then you are dooming your team to failure even if you are a late game champ, especially if your team is losing the TF's.

Now if they holding their own... that is a different story.

that is actually good advice, it is one thing I am trying to do less. sometimes it is fine, yet kind of rude, for me to split instead of group - but the times to do that are situational, and I am trying to break the habit of doing it too much by default - to look to group more often. I am doing it more often :)

Another ADC complaining that their team feeds, nothing new here.

If you're going to play ADC, you really should understand that you're playing a position that has basically no influence on 80-90% of the map in the early game, if you care so much about your team not sucking in the early game, switch to jungle or mid

nah I don't mind whatever my team does.

I just get irritated when they start harassing me just 'cause what succeeds for me is not what they expect. I usually don't say anything. but I guess, I'm just an AD complaining, just because I say anything once ;)

oh and yeah agreed - but I don't look to influence the early game. I come back from surprisingly far deficits sometiems. usually I come back even in 4-6 kill deficits. it's my strength, so I play to it. just... it's unpopular 'cause everyone who is salty targets me first

There isn't any real opinion here. This is just you whining about your team and acting all smug and condescending about it.

Next.

sorry, I'm wordy and not very good at communicating the oppinion is that it's OK for the AD to have a slow start... the unpopular oppinion is to aim for the long game... three to four teammates in every team comp complain of anyone who is trying to play for the late game.

I feel you. Try playing Azir, there's only 2 and a half scenarios each game can play out.

a.) Your team loses earlygame extremely hard and surrenders. b.) Your team goes even but lacks the power to get the game to lategame (where you would shine on Azir).

On the rare occasion the first 2 scenarios don't happen you can carry the game.
